#gemstone
#Moldavite is an interesting #gemstone with a unique story dating back to #1908. Shards of moldavite were found in the town of #Willendorf, #Austria with a figurine of a woman later named the #Venus of Willendorf.
The limestone statue is from the Paleolithic period, which makes it over 27,000 years old. Although #humanity has come a long way, the love and fascination with moldavite has not decreased, especially since a paleolithic society felt that moldavite was significant enough to leave pieces of it with a figurine to represent fertility and beauty.

How did you decide to use the name “ #TheMisunderstood ”?
It was suggested by our lady manager to explain our pretending to be a British band in USA – it came in the news, “How to get famous? Pretend to be English!” – so we changed our name to The Misunderstood in 1965

“Once in a lifetime” 1300-year-old #gemstone #necklace #discovered in #England may have belonged to high status
now, another stone on my windowsill... the big yellow and white stone is a Norwegian Lizardite (a Serpentine), weighing 2,7kg / 5.95lb. I was lucky to get it for a reasonable price 2 years ago.
Since long I have this smaller one with hematite in it...
