Wooo, more kilometers during March so far than any other month before 2023, including best cycling season months 🤩 Building up some strength for the upcoming three week trip end of May. Had a really nice 40km ride today in a cloudy but not too cold (2C) Helsinki.

Need to start testing longer rides soon, with some equipment. Any tips for good places within a 50km range around #Helsinki?

Commuting towards Lauttasaari from Kalasatama. Camera battery ran out when reaching the central Baana bicycle highway, unfortunately. Lots of loose snow, though things were in a much more better condition than the day before. At least now some of the bike lanes had been cleared of snow.

I recently bought an external mic for my SJ6 camera, so this was also a test for that. Works well, all the previous clicking noises from the camera itself have disappeared. On the negative side, the mic seems to pick up everything really well 😅

I wish the SJ6 had a better battery. I guess will just need to hook up an external battery for longer filmings. Also, it seems I've accumulated a dead pixel I've not at least noticed before :/

Today in Finland we had a national public transport strike, to protest against the government basically being full of shit heads. Lots of cars queuing in traffic, aww. Lots of honking. Lots of people walking about as well. If the cycle paths were actually maintained, maybe there would be more cyclists too.

Almost 10,000 Finns signed a petition against closing the border with #Russia

A significant part of the signatures were from families who live on both sides of the border. Citizens believe that the authorities’ decision violates the constitution and it is not their fault that they need to #travel to Russia and care for elderly relatives and the graves of their ancestors.
In #Finland
Finnish business also does not see the point in closing borders: Russia had a positive impact on economic growth and tourism.

🇫🇲 But the voice of the common people in NATO is not important - #Helsinki will dutifully carry out the #political course of the “ #master”.
