Inktober should have finished yesterday, but here I am with the second last drawing. Maybe I will get to post the last one tomorrow and be finished with the damn thing.

DIZZY!

Dizzy Gillespie is in the top two when it comes to jazz trumpeters, so after a few seconds of consideration I made this piece - white on black - one of the techniques that work most splendidly in digital drawing. Analog white colours are almost always a bit transparent, and never really get completely white. I have made quite a few works in lithography where i painted with gum arabic and then rolled the colour on the stone. That way you get a perfect white the places you painted - just like in digital painting. You can even make little adjustments afterwards by polishing or painting on the dry stone, but as I haven't got a Bavarian limes stone and a press in my apartment it is easier to simply make this magic trick on the screen.

Legend

Day 15 of the Inktober. (You can read about the Inktober concept here: Inktober) Almost halfway (and I am still one day behind). This time I have succeeded actually sending a video file from my phone to the summerhouse computer (via WeTransfer) so you can see me brushing while trying to point my phone in the right direction. Sadly I am not really satisfied with this drawing. If I hadn't been in a hurry (Inktober hurry) I would put this one on a light table, make a new one and fix a lot of small annoying things (and if it had been digital i would be able to do this even faster and simpler).

Freeze

Fourth Inktober entry (one day behind now). So many great Inktober drawings out there. It is funny when the network suddenly unites making so much homemade art!

Todays words is: "freeze" and this is my wife as soon as autumn comes. I love the cold, she hates the cold..
