2.5 months of loose #plastic pieces and single use plastic in south of #France.

I'm working hard to avoid buying plastic, but being on disability pension, it's hard to buy items that (sadly) are much more expensive if they are not plastic wrapped.

So I've decided to shove all the plastic I get into empty bottles. This is a 2L cooking wine filled with some 400g of plastic I've got in the last 10 weeks.

Instead of 100 lose items, there will be one item to #recycle. I know it's not the best solution, but it's the best I can do under current circumstances.

PS. I added 10 more pieces since this picture was taken. Shoving the plastic in as hard as I could using a wooden spoon.

A new Greenpeace report finds only about 5% of all plastic products are recycled in the U.S., with the rest ending up in landfills.

One of my unpopular opinion has always been calling recycling, the biggest scam of modern history.

By making people believe that their plastic garbage is being recycled, the REDUCE movement was almost eliminated and replaced by people who spend hours sorting out their garbage that in many times, end up in the same bin and get burned or dumped in the tip.

We need to stop using plastic, reduce our use of plastic items to almost 0 and forcing companies to do the same.

All the BS stories about bacteria eating plastic, plastic turned into fuel, plastic turned into 3D printer material and others are nothing but greenwashing the plastic industry that keep pushing more and more plastic into our lives. By reducing the size of the portions and selling multi packs instead. By making packages smaller and selling us more air and empty space in dual, triple and quadruple packed items.

Plastic is kling our oceans.
Plastic is killing our animals.
Plastic is killing our nature.
And of course plastic is killing us.
