#plastic

It is really hard living plastic free these days. I have a rule that I never buy and item in plastic that is also available in glass or can. Have my own small cotton bags for vegetables. I buy most of my beans from the Tunisian butcher who sell them lose in paper bags. but there are things I can not find alternative to and it really bugs me. Specially since I know recycle is the biggest scam companies sold us to make us feel good when they keep shrinking them items into smaller packs and then selling us double packed so we feel we are having a bargain.

Recent studies have found #tiny plastic particles deep inside #human l#ungs and #blood. A new paper from Columbia University has identified nanoplastics—even smaller than microplastics, which we have been worried about for a while—as particularly prevalent, especially in bottled water. The average American adult may be consuming over 11,000 pieces of #microplastic per year, another study calculated this month". unquote
