We are now at a point where a #Chinese professor at an #Italian university may demand from #Taiwanese students that they list their country as "China" on research papers.
I don't have to do with foreign students at our university, but if I imagined I would ask students from certain areas in Poland to list their country as "Germany", because "that area has always been German", I'm pretty sure I would get in trouble and people would start to question my sanity. But for some it's OK to do so...
