#amps

I don't know why, because I didn't search for #guitar #amps recently, but Google suggested several news articles regarding those devices. I ignored most, but then got curious, because the title was a little bit silly: Why You Should Never Plug A Keyboard Into A Guitar Amplifier

Apparently this is the unofficial fan website of a band and Google even suggested several of their articles. I seriously hope that the band is not in any way connected to whoever is writing on that website, because whoever that is, they have no clue what they are talking about. Let's have a look:

A guitar amplifier is a device used to amplify the signal of an electric guitar so that it produces a louder sound through a loudspeaker.
Fundamentally correct, what a statement!

A keyboard can damage a guitar amplifier if the keyboard is plugged into the amplifier’s input and the volume is turned up too high.
Boy, good keyboards have line output. This is higher than the mic level output of passive guitars, but can easily be handled by an amplifier. Also: If plugging a keyboard into an amp's input is so bad, are you suggesting to plug it into the amp's output?

This can cause the amplifier to overheat and possibly catch fire.
Only if that amp is absolute garbage. Before anything could possibly "overheat" (which would be a design flaw), you will get so terrible distortions from overdriving your amp that you will turn off the amp and/or hit the keyboarder first.

Any guitar amplifier with a large range would be unable to produce much bass.
Any guitar amp with a large range going low enough will be able to produce bass. I'm using an el-cheapo guitar amp for bass practice.

If you do pump too much bass through it, there is a chance you will blow something.
Your mind, mainly. Or what is left of it.

The distortion of a speaker is not a problem.
Are we living in the same physics universe?

The reason why people don’t play the bass guitar is that amplifier is an impediment.
I learned that a bass with amp is significantly easier to hear than a bass without amp.

This polyphony has a 64-note polyphony with thick pads, so treating it with a large range of notes isn’t the best option.
I have no idea what you are talking about all of a sudden.

There is a reason why bass guitar players do not play through an amplifier.
Do you seriously suggest they play bass through their noses?

Even if the low frequencies cannot be reproduced on a bass amplifier, they will cause the speakers to suffer from damage over time.
Ahem, the term "bass amplifier" suggests that it is made for a...bass. It may lack in higher frequencies, but should have no problem with the lower and - unless it is garbage.

Let's go to another "article" I got suggested: The Risks Of Using A Guitar Amplifier With Your Laptop (I skip the statement by Captain Obvious)

While most guitar amps are not powerful enough to damage a laptop’s sound system, some high-end amplifiers can generate enough power to cause serious damage.
"Captain, the Cylons modified their phasers to our shield frequency, which caused a feedback into the warp core. We are doomed!" The only thing you may regret when using your laptop at a guitar amp is the limited frequency range. A guitar amp only needs to amplify the sounds made by a guitar, so you won't find any offering 20Hz to 20kHz.

Guitar amps, on the other hand, lack a full-range frequency response comparable to keyboard amplifiers. As a result, the back keyboard sounds of a guitar amplifier will not be as accurate as they could be. It is also possible to damage the guitar amplifier’s speakers.
What a total...

For the finish, just a headline: Are Orange Guitar Amps Louder Than Other Kinds Of Ants
Yes, certainly. Unless they are completely broken or switched off. I have yet to meet an ant who is louder than any amplifier I know.
