"The US-Ukrainian military unity is slowly cracking."

This is how Politico described the disagreements that seem to be increasingly present between #Kyiv and #Washington in reference to the war.

They especially emphasize "how and when the conflict will end."

In addition, it can be read that the administration of US President Joe #Biden has notified the Ukrainian authorities that certain violent actions outside the territory of #Ukraine are unacceptable.

In addition, some officials consulted said that Washington has begun to worry that Ukraine is "spending so many troops and ammunition on #Bakhmut that it could undermine their ability to mount a major counteroffensive in the spring."

Despite this, the administration has stated that the US-Kyiv alliance remains strong and will last as long as the war lasts.

Video shows a truck full of Ukrainian soldiers passing damaged what seems to be Ukrainian tanks and armored vehicles

The video says they are leaving Bakhmut, but their clothes and fear in their eyes says they are part of the "reinforcement" #Ukraine is sending to #Bakhmut to stop #Russians advancement.

Their faces reminds me of the young volunteers I met during Iraq invasion of Iran back in early 80s. Most of them going to be victims of this unnecessary and stupid war.

Sadly, we won't see any such videos from the Russian side, I am sure their troops and soldiers have the same fear in their eyes.

War is glory for the leader, cash cow for weapons makers and hell for those fighting it.

Ukrainian commanders agree to maintain Bakhmut defense

Despite large numer of videos and posts on social media showing Ukraine forces desperately trying to flee the besieged city while being hammered by barrage of artillery from up to 70km away, the leadership of Ukraine military decides to keep sending soldiers to the battlefield to die with the wave of meat sent by Putin's army.

War is hell, but for the commanders sitting in their safe bunkers 100s of kilometers away from the battlefield, is brings nothing but glory and pride.

The dead bodies of soldiers from Russia and Ukraine will be medals on the uniform of these assholes who don't value life much.

Ukrainian army commanders agreed on Monday to strengthen positions in Bakhmut, defending the eastern town that has become the epicenter of Russia’s grinding front-line attacks against Ukraine.

During a regular staff meeting for the supreme commander in chief, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the situation in Bakhmut with Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, Ukraine’s armed forces commander-in-chief, and commander of the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops, Oleksandr Syrsky. Syrsky recently returned from Bakhmut, where he visited Ukrainian soldiers.

“The commanders talked about further actions in the Bakhmut direction and spoke in favor of continuing the defense operation,” Zelenskyy’s office said in a statement. “In addition, the parties discussed the supply of weapons and equipment and their distribution to operational directions.”

Ukrainian soldiers in Bakhmut: ‘Our troops are not being protected’

This is from the Ukrainian government backed media writing about the brutality of this war.

The more time goes, the more gruesome this war becomes and the push for fight to the end from both sides is creating a mountains of dead and injured on both sides plus many innocent civilians caught in between.

Russia’s relentless assault on Bakhmut is sacrificing waves and waves of unprepared men being sent to their deaths.
But multiple defenders of this embattled city in Donetsk Oblast feel that they are in a similar boat, according to interviews with more than a dozen soldiers currently fighting in or around Bakhmut
....
Mortarmen spoke of extreme ammunition scarcity and having to use weapons dating back to World War II. Drones that are supposed to provide critical reconnaissance information are also scarce and are being lost at very high rates in some parts of the battlefield.
All this leads to terrifying casualties of both dead and wounded. "The battalion came in in the middle of December… between all the different platoons, there were 500 of us," says Borys, a combat medic from Odesa Oblast fighting around Bakhmut. "A month ago, there were literally 150 of us."
“When you go out to the position, it’s not even a 50/50 chance that you’ll come out of there (alive),” says the older Serhiy. “It’s more like 30/70.”

Nothing like this can ever come out from the Russian side, but I am sure their losses are significantly higher since they are trying to break into a city where 1000 of soldiers have been prepared to stand against their invasion.

Reading it brought back horror memories from Iraq invasion and the 8 years of bloody war that followed. I am afraid that this war may drag on many years in different forms, even if it may stop in it's current conflict, but the fire that was started can not be put out that easily.

The head of Russian mercenary group Wagner said on Friday the group had "practically encircled" #Bakhmut, an industrial city in eastern Ukraine that has seen the fiercest fighting of Moscow's invasion

The bloodiest and longest battle in the now over 1 year of war in Ukraine is about to come to and end (for now). Reports of Ukrainian forces blowing up all the bridges in the city and surrounding areas preparing to withdraw from the city in the small narrow path they say is still open.

This is now, more than ever time to push for immediate and unconditional ceasefire and push for negotiation between the 2 parts to stop this mass slaughter and destructive war.

But listening to US, Germany, Ukraine and UK, they have 0 interest in negotiating with Putin unless he completely leaves Ukraine, including breakout regions. something that Putin and his loonies would never agree with (and NATO knows perfectly well) so there is no change of seeing peace anytime soon.

Most Front-Line Ukrainian Soldiers Killed Within ‘4 Hours’

The average lifespan on the frontline of the fierce fighting in the city of Bakhmut is "four hours," according to an American fighting side by side with the Ukrainian army against Russian forces in the Donbas.

Former U.S. Marine Troy Offenbecker, of Michigan, told ABC News that the situation in the city, which has seen some of the deadliest fighting since Russia's full-scale invasion, is "chaotic" and has been dubbed "the meat grinder."

"It's been pretty bad on the ground," he told ABC News. "A lot of casualties. The life expectancy is around four hours on the frontline."

It Is Done: #Bakhmut is #Encircled by Russian Troops
26 FEBRUARY 2023

It took months of fierce and deadly fighting, but the city of Bakhmut, Ukraine is now, officially, tactically-encircled by the Russian Army. Upwards of seven thousand (7,000) Ukraine troops are now trapped and cannot get out.

This morning, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported to Ukraine President Zelensky about the tactical encirclement and the impossibility of evacuating the remaining Ukrainian units.

HAL TURNER EDITORIAL OPINION

This is a massive victory for the Russian Army. By finally taking Bakhmut, Russia has now cut-off all supply lines for the Ukrainian Army to the south and southeast of Ukraine. Those areas will now fall, one at a time, to the never-ending Russian onslaught.

Ukraine is losing the war. As reported on this web site from the very beginning, once the Russian Army crossed their border, Ukraine stood no chance at all. Only the West thought otherwise, and provided aid to Ukraine. That aid only served to delay the inevitable, and cost tens-of-thousands of more Ukrainian deaths.

#Ukraine should surrender.

Russian forces may have scored rare success in battle near Bakhmut

Assault on town of #Soledar could deliver Moscow its first military victory since last summer

Forces from Russia’s Wagner contract militia stepped up their attacks on Soledar in eastern Ukraine and may have taken control of most of the town in an assault that could deliver Moscow its first military success since last summer.

Britain’s Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday that Russian forces were “likely in control” of Soledar, whose capture would make it harder for Ukraine to hold nearby #Bakhmut, a city that has gained symbolic importance for both sides and become the centre of fierce frontline fighting.

Russian attacks on Soledar were “likely an effort to envelop Bakhmut from the north, and to disrupt Ukrainian lines of communication,” the UK’s MoD said. However, “Russia is unlikely to envelop the town [of Bakhmut] imminently because Ukrainian forces maintain stable defensive lines in depth and control over supply routes,” it added.
