and an update on the #construction on our #bike path connection in south #Ottawa. They have been working on this 70 m long section now for several months, but it does look like some progress is being made. The wall got done quite quickly and it looks like the bike path portion is ready for asphalt next, then hopefully some landscaping to stabilize that oddly-gravelled slope.

...and an update today in the #bike pathway #construction in the south end of #Ottawa. The details to address the artesian well leakage are taking place, having moved the drain north, converted it to a new sloped drain and plumbed the well directly into the drain. Hopefully that will do it, along with weighting the wellhead itself to counter the weight that is forcing the water out of the aquifer, or so I am told.

...and speaking of #bike pathways, the one on Brookfield in #Ottawa has been re-opened. By my count this was the 17th time this bike path was torn up and put back down again in the last five years, but at least it is open again.

The photo shows the replaced part as new (dark) asphalt there under the scaffolding..

The update for today on #bike path #construction is ... yet another day with no one there and thus no progress. Perhaps they have adjourned while waiting for some equipment or supplies to show up or some issue to be solved. Perhaps it is the twenty-year-old water leak?

Here is today’s update on our #bike path connection #construction here in the south end of #Ottawa. This will join the #Osgoode Link Pathway to the Sawmill Creek Wetlands Pathway, making one continuous path from the village of Osgoode to #Quebec.

Despite lots of heavy equipment and noise, the amount of work today seems pretty minimal. I am hoping this is finished this week, though.

It is coming along well well. The old retaining wall has been 100% torn down. Not sure whey the steel plate is needed, but I assume that they will repair the asphalt there under it, that the front end loader ripped up.

So far it is actually progressing well. The base of the bike path is there and the old retaining wall has been torn down.

I have been watching that old stone retaining wall failing for years, including being patched up periodically. I am actually happy to see it torn down, as I was convinced that it was going to fall down and pretty soon, too.

A different view of some #construction, this is the building of a new #bike path connection here in the south end of #Ottawa. It is supposed to be done by 25 August, so we will see how it progresses. It will probably look worse tomorrow as we are expecting up to 125 mm of rain.

Another look at #conefest here in #Ottawa, now in its seventh year. It has now moved south and set up in our end of the city. These cones on the main road really serve no purpose here, as the #construction crews have only closed a sidewalk nearby for building a new #bike path connection.
