#Ottawa #Osgoode Link Pathway #bike path #construction update for today. The contractor keeps digging things up at Leitrim Road and then putting it back together, but the pathway remains closed there. They are supposed to be putting in bike crossing traffic signals, but it has not been complete in many months now.

Here is an update on the attempts to car-proof our new Shopper Drug Mart under #construction in #Ottawa. The posts have now all been decoratively finished with these nice plastic covers. That just hides the fact that they are steel posts embedded in concrete and also filled with concrete and designed to keep idiots who can't drive from hitting the plate glass windows.

Here is my Monday update on the #construction work on the #Osgoode Link Pathway. They finally got the northern-most 2 km section completed and we were able to at least bike that far this morning. It looks like next they will be installing the bike crossing lights at the road intersection, as the ground detectors have already been wired in. That means that we will just have to pull up on our bikes and the lights will flash for crossing, I think.

The pathway is still blocked 2 km further south, waiting for the ground work to be finished on the crossing lights there.

and speaking of #Ottawa #construction, here is the latest reason to yet again close and tear up a #bike pathway: this time it is dredging a silt pond. I have no idea of the means by which this dredging will be done, but the photo shows the area where they plan to cache the silt prior to it being removed. I suspect I will be able to get some more photos of this once it gets actually started. The only good news is that we have an alternative bike route available on the other side of the pond.

Some shots of #construction on the #Osgoode Link Pathway in south #Ottawa. This #bike path seems to be taking a very long time to get finished and is already 27 months late to be completed. The portions that are completed look good, with a well-rolled stone dust surface. Just need to get it finished.
