"Why Socialism?" is an article written by Albert Einstein in May 1949 that appeared in the first issue of the socialist journal Monthly Review.
It addresses problems with #capitalism, predatory economic competition, and growing wealth inequality. It highlights control of mass media by private capitalists making it difficult for citizens to arrive at objective conclusions, and political parties being influenced by wealthy financial backers resulting in an " #oligarchy of private capital".

When Albert Einstein was making the rounds of the speaker’s circuit, his driver was tired hearing the same talk. He said, “I’ve heard you give this speech so many times. I can do it.”
Einstein laughed loudly and said, “Why not? Let’s do it!”
They swapped attires and the driver impersonated Einstein. The chauffeur did well in the looks department. He gave beautiful renditions of Einstein’s speech and answered questions expertly. This went on for a few lectures. Until he met a supremely pompous professor in the audience.
The professor asked an extremely esoteric question, digressing here and there to let the audience know that he was nobody’s fool.
In the back row, Einstein thought the game was up.
Just then, the chauffeur gave the professor a steely stare and said, “Your question is so simple that my chauffeur sitting at the back can answer that for you.”
And the chauffeur did.

Oui l'État est toujours responsable de ce qui se passe dans un pays, c'est son rôle qui veut ça. Cela dit, quand l'État n'assume plus ses responsabilités, c'est alors à nous, peuple français, qu'il incombe de reprendre les choses en mains.
C'est notre devoir de #citoyens que d'intervenir à tout moments et sur tout les sujets qui nous concerne. #RIC C'est ça la #démocratie . Ou plutôt c'est ce qu'elle devrait être dans un pays qui s'en réclame à longueur de discours.

Es gibt nur zwei Dinge, die unendlich sind: das Universum und die Anzahl der Leute, die keine Gelegenheit verpassen, bei der Erwähnung von Unendlichkeit oder anderen mathematischen Werkzeugen einmal mehr Einstein wiederzugeben: "Es gibt nur zwei…" – ach, ihr wisst schon: "Bin isch intilligent, weil kann isch zitieren, Alter!" Inzwischen habe ich den Spruch schon so oft gehört, dass es entweder Supertasks gibt oder ich längst ein ω vor meinem Alter habe.
Und da wir uns schon im Transfiniten befinden: der Spruch war schon beim ersten mal nicht witzig. "… aber bei ersterem bin ich mir nicht sicher." Ha… ha… gäääääähn.
