Die Bedenken sind zerstreut ... denn was ich hier vom neuen Album The Other Side Of Make-Believe hören kann, klingt definitiv nach Interpol.

Es zeigt sich wieder mal, dass ein Video nicht alles ist, denn nachdem ich dieses von der ersten Auskopplung anschaute und hörte, wollte es mir irgendwie nicht die passende Stimmung geben. Musik bleibt Musik und Musikvideos eine Kunst für sich ... passt halt nicht immer. Aber wenn ich das Album so weit wie hier möglich höre, dann passt es.

Normalerweise schenke ich ja Preisgewinnern erstmal ein Ohr weniger ... aber hier sollte man schon mal ein Ohr riskieren.
Yard Act aus Leeds kommen ironisch mit ernstem Unterton daher und machen so ... nennen wir es mal ... modernen Postpunk. Der geneigte Leser mit vierviertelsechszehntelBasslauf ist hier natürlich nicht gemeint. ;)) Das klingt alles schon wesentlich abwechslungsreicher.

James Graham (The Twilight Sad) und Aidan Moffat (Arab Strap) haben zusammen musiziert und das Ergebnis als Gentle Sinners auf 'these actions cannot be undone' veröffentlicht.
Das alles klingt auf jeden Fall schon mal sehr abwechslungsreich und interessant.

Auf der Suche nach immer mal wieder anderen Klängen im Ohr bin ich bei Midlake gelandet ... man kann die Musik grob mit Indie-Folk-Rock umschreiben, aber ein wenig Prog und ein dicker Batzen 70er-Feeling klingen ebenso mit.
Zwar nicht neu, dafür aber interessant und gut und wie gesagt - für mich auch mal was anderes.
