Spotify appears to have been overwhelmed by cancellation requests.
Reports suggest Spotify has shut down its live customer support because of complaints and cancellation requests.
It all started earlier this week when artist Neil Young asked the platform to take down his music over Joe Rogan's podcast and COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

They're probably not trying to stop you cancelling your account, they just can't cope with the demand.

Is it possible the pendulum is starting to slowly swing back towards the side of public good, & truth?
Who has the power and willingness, at the cost of self-sacrifice, to pursue the continued existence of music entertainment in a non-toxic environment - even if it is lucrative, as in the case of their # 1 star, super-spreading disinformation, and no doubt, deaths.

On the Spotify Stupification....

It seems that Spotify is not allowing people to unsubscribe! So say several recent posts, reflecting anger & frustration.
So I went to see what I could see. First thing: I could not sign in using my valid, double-checked username and password.
I've been canceled?!

Maybe they're psychic and knew. Or maybe there really is a big backlash against their preferring conspiracy-spouting death pushers over Neil Young. (Or music. Or decency)

So now I did a search on their site (not signed in, just a general public person/non-subscriber), and looked for "Neil Young".
Kinda sad. Hopefully karma will be rolling around someday soon, #Spotify #NeilYoung #SleazySpotify

Rogans #Podcast ist mit rund 11 Millionen Hörern je Folge die beliebteste Sendung auf #Spotify. Der 54 Jahre alte Comedian verdingt sich unter anderem auch als Kommentator bei Mixed-Martial-Arts-Kämpfen. In seinem Podcast spricht er oft mehrere Stunden lang mit seinen Gästen über verschiedenste Themen. Mit Blick auf die #Corona - #Pandemie hatte er schon zuvor #Kritik auf sich gezogen, nachdem er im April 2021 erklärt hatte, junge, gesunde Menschen sollten sich seines Erachtens eher nicht impfen lassen. Später ergänzte er, man solle nicht auf ihn hören, er sei ja kein Arzt.
Erst kürzlich hatten rund 270 Ärzte, Wissenschaftler und Beschäftigte im #Gesundheit|swesen einen offenen Brief veröffentlicht und unter anderem Bezug auf eine Folge von Ende Dezember, in der der US-Virologe Robert Malone zu Gast war, genommen. Dieser forschte einst an der #mRNA -Technologie, ihm wird aber seit geraumer Zeit die Verbreitung von #Verschwörungstheorien und Falschinformationen über #Covid-19 - #Impfung|en vorgeworfen. #Twitter sperrte aus diesem Grund zuletzt seinen Account. In der Show mit #Rogan erklärte er unter anderem, dass ein Teil der Bevölkerung im Prinzip „hypnotisiert“ werde, um zu glauben, was #Medien und etwa Präsidentenberater Anthony #Fauci zu Impfungen sagten.
In einem am Mittwochabend veröffentlichten neuen Statement auf seiner Webseite nahm #Young Bezug auf den Brief, durch den er auf „dieses Problem“ aufmerksam geworden sei. Spotify sei zu einem „Ort der lebensbedrohlichen Corona- #Desinformation|en“ geworden, die gerade junge Hörer bedrohten. Lügen würden für #Geld verkauft.

Die Songs von Neil Young werden nicht mehr über den Streamingdienst Spotify zu hören sein.

Young begründete seine Entscheidung damit, dass er nicht die „lebensbedrohliche Fehlinformation durch Spotify“ unterstützen wolle. Gerade junge Hörer würden Gefahr laufen, Aussagen für bare Münze zu nehmen, die sie auf der Plattform hörten. „Diese jungen Leute glauben, dass Spotify niemals grob falsche Informationen anbieten würde. Leider liegen sie falsch.“

Es gibt ihn ja auch noch woanders ^^
