It is ridiculous how narrow some paths for pedestrians are in France.

Some parts of France doing a great job making the cities bike and pedestrian friendly, others keep taking away walking path to help people having parking space.

Had a hard time passing that car with a bird cage, backpack and a big shopping bag in my hand. Ended up walking on the street for a while.

Germany's Creative Pedestrian Lights

Several German cities have unique traffic lights. Berlin's lights feature the iconic Ampelmännchen, Bonn's feature Beethoven, who was born in the former capital, and Trier's feature hometown philosopher Karl Marx.

The western town of Friedberg recently transformed some of its lights to feature Elvis Presley, who was stationed nearby as a US army soldier in the late 1950s.
