#photographed
This morning I posted a moonset. It has largely been a #sunny #day and as #sunset approaches, I #photographed the #Sun, which led to #silhouettes in the #foreground and plenty of #LensFlare. Still cold out there with the #temperature a couple of degrees above #freezing but bone dry.

What brought me into art? The fact that I survived cancer in my brain when I was young. I now do struggle in remembering things verbally and difficulty in hearing. As a result, I have become exceedingly visual. I always enjoyed photographing and I got into photographic art. Later in my life I learned about Adobe Photoshop, discovered the fascinating things I can do with it to create art and took a ton of notes to remember it. Today, with my own learning, creativity and family support, I produce abstract digital art.

In #1933 #Gisèle_Freund joined the many exiled Germans in Paris, amongst whom the #photographers Joseph Breitenbach and Fritz Henle. She was a Jewish and she had photographed in 1932 a violent May-Day in Frankfurt against the National Socialists.
In #1935 she #photographed the unemployed in the depressed areas in northern England.
In #1936 her #Sorbonne dissertation On Photography and Bourgeois Society was #published.
Among many #portraits of what was considered the "intellectual elite" at the time - Man Ray, Walter Benjamin, James Joyce and Frida Kahlo, for example -, in 1950 she photographed Evita Peron.
Gisèle #Freund's work, and life, are sociologically and historically so important that I invite you to read a more detailed #biography here.

It has been a fair while since I #photographed the #Moon. There have been a few days in its cycle that I have been wanting to get and one or two for which I have #images with which I'm not really happy. Anyway, here is tonight's #WaningGibbous #phase, one day after the #FullMoon. There are a few thin #clouds but the image is quite clear.
