It has been raining like crazy here in Juan Les Pins, I left this half water bottle outside last week, and today it was almost overflowing with rain water .

My balcony drainage was clogged and the whole balcony looked like a lake

Cleaned it up and our ground floor neighbor got a few hundred liter of water coming down on him.

I really don't like the system here that the balcony water goes out on the street or the neighbors on the ground floor.

I will definitely have a rain water collection in my next place, the rain water here is full of nitrogen and it's great for root vegetables and leafy vegetables. And if I filter that t, I might even be able t use it in my future Aquaponics system.

Took me years to find the right type of Basil and now I'm saving the seeds for later.

Persian Basil is called Reyhan (ریحان), it's much stronger smell and taste, usually eaten by Kebab or mixed vegetables people eat with most dishes.

I found it by accident and been growing them in hydroponics and out on the balcony for almost 2 years now..

It's always difficult to collect the seeds because they are really tiny.

the pump in my internal dutch bucket hydroponic was clogged for a few days and I didn't realize it.

The plants are almost dead, glad I found out in time. If it wasn't in the water, the pump would have been burned by now.

I am hoping they will recover soon and took the opportunity to step it up a bit and lift it 30cm more to have more space for the reservoir and the light, possibly adding a 3rd unit to it later, I am hoping to take this with me whenever I go so it can start over quickly.

Slowly packing my stuff and I think it's time to move the plants from this unit to the one by the window and pack it up.

Really want to pack and put everything in storage so I can sell this apartment and buy a small house somewhere else.

My health is deteriorating and I'm not sure how much more time I have, I want to enjoy the last few years and do something I really enjoy rather than worrying about money all the times and dealing with noisy and nasty neighbors.

Another Sunday and cherry tomato harvest from the balcony.

Changed the position of some of the plants, moved them around and got rid of the dead ones. I have at least 5 plants to give away and the rest I will keep until the apartment is ready for sale later in march.

In the mean time, enjoying the delicious fresh tomatoes as they keep coming up slowly.

One of the hydroponic tomatoes I started in January, was too big and I moved if into a soil based pot on the balcony, it took a while for it to get used to it, but now it's growing very well and have lots of tomatoes and flowers.

I may give this to a friend when I clean up the balcony for putting the apartment on the market.

It's kind of sad that I have to start over again, but hopefully, this time I will have a permanent garden where I can set up large scale hydroponic and if I'm lucky even an aquaponic unit with lots of fish.

This cherry tomatoe plant is starting it's 3rd year next week. It has been giving me cherries all year round, but it's in full bloom and with new compost fertilizer I gave it, I'm hoping it will grow bigger and stronger soon.

Last year it was over 3m tall. And about 3m wide. I wonder if it keeps growing like that.

Sadly, I have to move soon and can't take it with me. So either give it away or let it die.

I have never been able to germinate and grow celery. But using a store bought celery to put in dutch bucket hydroponic seems to be working great.

I love celery and use it in different dishes, or just as fresh snack. I always wanted to grow them but couldn't manage to do it.

A few weeks ago, bought a bunch from the farmers market and used most of it to make a celery stew and put the center into an empty hole I had left in my dutch bucket.

It has been growing and hopefully I will be going to have fresh celery to eat whenever I want.

It's lovely to be able to grow my own vegetables. Both healthy and economic.
