Just read a post on Facebook and a guy was so excited to have bought a Tiny Tim tomato plant half the size of the one in the picture for $29.

I usually grow between 20-40 of them each season. giving away a lot of them, maybe I should start selling them :)

It is amazing that I bought my first one in a discount section of a shop for 15 euro, it was the most expensive plant I have ever bought and I fell in love with it and been growing 100s of them since then.

Slowly packing my stuff and I think it's time to move the plants from this unit to the one by the window and pack it up.

Really want to pack and put everything in storage so I can sell this apartment and buy a small house somewhere else.

My health is deteriorating and I'm not sure how much more time I have, I want to enjoy the last few years and do something I really enjoy rather than worrying about money all the times and dealing with noisy and nasty neighbors.

I did not believe it, so I did a quick search and found that it is true!

I really wish more communities did similar actions, imagine each apartment complex with lots of grass that cost money to maintain, had some raised beds instead for people to grow their own food. It would make the neighborhoods much friendlier and while people saved money and ate healthier food.

Desperately looking for the e level large IKEA Krydda system.

Feeling really stupid that I didn't buy them when people were selling those. The size is so much more suitable for growing vegetables and 3 levels is making it perfect for the little space I have by the entrance of the balcony.

Most people who bought it failed because the container is neither deep not big enough for that many planta, but with my DIY trick I have managed to grow lots of herbs in the smaller unit that has only 8 holes pee reservoir, compared to 15 on the big ones (minus one for the extra water feeding).

I tried this many years ago with garlic, it worked great until i got sick and stopped taking care of it and it died out.

I may try again growing some garlic later this summer I need to be around to turn it around a few times a week.

I really miss having fresh garlic chives for my soups and sandwich. With one 5L water bottle I would be able to have almost unlimited amounts of garlic chives (not so interested in growing garlic itself, but I love the fresh leaves).

One Tiny Tim Cherry Tomato in, 3 more to go.

This one is from my earlier experiment with growing tomatoes in different medium. Since it was growing in clay balls, it was easy to remove the old medium and put it in a mesh cup with perlite for her new home in the Dutch bucket unit.

The other 3 were in soil, so it takes time to clean up their roots, disinfect them with hydrogen peroxide and then place them in a 5cm mesh cup.

I never had good luck with strawberries.

I keep buying them and they keep dying on me. Last year I bought 6 plants, decided to keep some in a dedicated planter and not mix it with anything else 4 died and managed to get more plants from the runners.

This spring, I see flowers popping up and they seems to be really healthy.

Preparing some organic liquid fertilizer to feed them so they have enough nutrients to grow healthy fruits.

My daughter is coming at the end of April to visit and I hope to be able to give her some delicious home grown strawberries (her favorite when she was a kid).

Fresh off the balcony to eat with pork chops

Unlike vegetables bought at stores. Mine don't last long after I pull them. I am not sure if it is because they use chemicals to keep them fresh longer or am I missing something.

But for personal use, they are just great. Fresh, delicious and a tingly spicy. May have pulled them out a bit too early, but need to redo some pots for summer time.

step by step getting closer to a full system.

Will let the other seedlings rest in oxygen rich water while focusing on building a stand for the 2 IKEA grow lights to be placed on top of these plants.

Really want to make it adjustable so I can move them up and down as plants grow, but I may just build a quick and dirty one for current needs and build the other one later.
