I'm reading #DonQuixote by #MiguelDeCervantes at the moment and thoroughly enjoying it. Before overhearing a little of it in an audiobook not long ago, I realized that it was not a dry #book at all. There are glimpses of what later authors, like #PGWodehouse and even #TerryPratchett took from it and also characters like #InspectorClouseau show traits of the deluded hero of the book. I will reserve further judgement until I get to the end but I'm finding it a pleasure rather than a chore right now.

By the excessive use of exclamation marks, shops and places here with physical counters often put up notices or posters that, strongly suggest to you to do one thing and not another. Not sure how it is where you are, is that a universally annoying phenomenon?

I hate that practice!!! So now!!! I said it!!!! However, for many years decades now I just smile at this pronounced uncouthness in grammar.

Contrary to (some) popular habit, multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign of an unsane mind. Thank you, Terry Pratchett, for adding the very use also hints at "someone who wears his underpants on his head". Well, yes, I'm British enough to appreciate the comment.
