In the 4th season of #TheExpanse everybody does/ will do/ has done/ did everything they could/ can all the time. That is understandable and yet obviously fruitless considering the overall lack of a plot.

(On the other hand, a decent Ferengi could make an absolute fortune with roast slug liver on New Terra. But maybe I'm wrong, I'm only at Episode 7 right now.)

So I started watching The Expanse. Made it until the third episode, then fatigued.

Nice FX, good story with potential, but why is character stupidity the main driver again? "I'm buying us insurance" seems to be the one plot twist so far, based on hotshot-ism in a little too obvious a way, while the general political state was a little too underexposed to make that exclamation fall into a well-prepared place. Or so I thought.

Should I keep watching?

Last night I finished re-reading Babylon's Ashes, I was initially pretty disappointed when I heard they were stopping The Expanse TV series there, but upon reflection I think it is a pretty decent spot to wrap up. It pretty much results in the functional end of the Earth/Mars/Belt paradigm that drives most of the series' drama and politics, and in that respect I think if forms a good "ending" to the story, albeit one that leaves some major unanswered mysteries behind.
