:: 46-27 2022 Art Summary ::

'Tis here, everybody. Me art summary for the 2022! I hope I will be as productive as this year for 2023, especially for my story illustrations. :>

I dub Maddox as OC of the year (the dude in Jan, Apr, and May). He is a medic in the army who did a good job leading an expedition that kickstarts the Remigration Project. This 'Mr Grumpy Gills' actually has a good future ahead of him, although he is a super side character.

:: 46-26 [Artfolmas] 22 Cosy Sweater ::

Here's my OC, my little 'ducky' Jayden Lazarus -- a warm-hearted and theatrical librarian. A friend to all. He is wearing a sweater that is inspired by the male [Long-tailed Duck]. The long-tailed duck is one of the many waterfowls that can be seen around during winter.

My only entry for a Christmas event on [Artfol] called Artfolmas.
Prompt no. 22: "original or fictional character wearing a cosy sweater".
About Artfolmas:
It's a bingo card style of challenge. They have 24 prompts + 1 free space, and each user gets their own card of shuffled numbers. If you submit for a bingo line of your choice, then you get a badge! Of course, with my December being a hectic month, I only managed to draw only this one. No badge for me, but I still wanna participate because so far, Artfol's pretty neat.

:: 46-08 [TJH] The Loremaster ::

What good is an expedition team if you don't even know the background story of the place you're going? A little history goes a long way~

Meet The Loremaster, Jayden Lazarus -- dubbed as such simply because only he knows the history of Nexus by heart. Jayden prizes his reputation as a Nexus historian.

Ever since The Migration took place (where Nexus people were brought over to Sigma for safety from The Great Catastrophe), Jayden has always been a close follower of Sigma news on anything related to them returning home.

Upon hearing about the Remigration Project, Jayden eagerly sought a job under Mr Aaron. The Sigma Government doesn't need to ask him to volunteer for their beta test (to live in Nexus for 1-2 months); he (and Aaron) would already count himself on board, whether they like it or not.

:: 46-05 [TJH] The Wayfarer ::

Meet Simon Alexander, former king of Silverya. He loves travelling and getting to know local cultures.

Simon may sometimes comes off as cold and snobbish, but all in all, he's not that bad. He has survived a war and is trained with offensive-style sword-dancing. He is resourceful and known to be quite a kicker during fights, both figuratively and literally. xD He is well-versed in lightning magic (a rare magic), having quite the big trouble with Sigma's Special Unit.

When a young prince, he realised that life was different beyond palace walls. It made him curious, so he began venturing on his own. The further he went, the more he discovered. That is how his love for travel began. He loved listening to stories told by the storytellers and bards.

He now owns and runs a hotel that was quite known by common folk who travel a lot. It isn't long after that the Remigration Project started to come into the picture; and the Sigma Government has their eyes on getting him to volunteer for their beta test (to live in Nexus for 1-2 months).

P/S: On dA, I sorta renamed all my previous uploads of 46-XX to match my current TJH story idea (even if it may change, heheh), but for Diaspora, I only start here.

:: 46-03 [TJH] Officer Annie ::

Another old OC coming through~ x'D Created a few years before Matsuri, she is now reincarnated and redesigned to fit the current time. She was originally the Underground Guild leader, the one I mentioned in my previous upload.

This is Officer Annie from Sigma Government's Department of Defence/DoD. I don't know what her rank is (my government is undeveloped, mates), but an uneducated guess is First Sergeant, and she'll be assisting the Captain.

Officer Annie is a serious woman, but she knows when to ease up a bit. She was recruited to replace the DoD's weapons expert who was incapacitated due to an incident by a certain underground researcher. Her weapon of choice? I'd say light sabers, but we don't have that and it's a copyrighted item, so... short swords. xD --though I swear she'd love light sabers--

What baffles most people, particularly the soldiers, is how Officer Annie was even enlisted. If she was any other non-human race, it's somewhat acceptable; but she is a Místic, the one race that everyone in Sigma is wary of.

She is to be the camp leader's assistant once the Remigration Project's beta phase starts. The Remigration Project is a follow-up to this previous expedition by RESET.

:: 45-063 [TJH] So Hospitable Pt 2 ::

Jayden is hurt! No worries, Maddox is a medic, he knows what to do -- though he had to constantly shove Jayden's hand away from the wound so he could tend to it before it gets infected. Browning, Vic, and Thompson only looked from afar.

Apparently, the discussions with Satsuma no Ren, leader of the Nocturnals, did not go well. Despite the hospitality, Ren was clearly against the idea of having humans back in Nexus. Jayden continued to persuade Ren to have a change of mind, and Vic was telling him that the Sigma Government isn't giving anyone a choice right now, be it Nexus locals or the immigrants they plan on sending back. Sure, Vic could try get Aaron to work his charisma on the government officials, but there was no guarantee.

So, Ren figured that perhaps a little stab on a RESET personnel might nudge them in the right direction.

📖 Story snippet:

Cautiously, they retreated to the shores where their boat was. The Nocturnals that were around only looked at them as though making sure they left the Land of Night.
"What did you say to them??" Maddox asked Vic.
"That I would ask Aaron to consider who gets to go back," replied Vic. "Apparently, he wasn't convinced that humans wouldn't be sent back here. He got hostile on us, but not Browning, and apparently, not towards you guys too."
"Why?"
"I think because you're all from Sigma. Only me and Jayden are Nexus humans. So, WE are the problem. The unwanted."
Maddox silenced. "Damn, sucks to not be wanted by both worlds."
Vic felt like shooting him right that moment, but the thought faded because the look in his eyes did not match the harshness of his words. There was no smirk, no condescending look... Did Maddox mean that in an honest and sorry way? Was having an injured team mate dampening his annoying side?
Once they reached the shores of Vista, Maddox tended to Jayden's injury properly, carrying him close to where they parked the truck and leaned him against a tree.
