If trends hold, in 2028 or 2032, there will no longer be a #republican party. If the #GOP lose #Texas, they are over as a party, and can never win the #presidency again. It is at that point that #3rd parties will start jockeying for power and we could end up with 4 parties like when the whigs collapsed, though for several elections the #dems will have the majority votes. Most likely the new national party will build their power out of the states with #rankedchoicevoting . Libertarians, working families parties, democratic socialists and the green party are all possible candidates. If we are very lucky, more and more states will adopt RCV and make sure there are no longer any two dominating national parties.
