The warning has been given to Boeing and the Federal #Aviation Administration or #FAA in response to the potential for a jammed or restricted rudder control system on some B-737NG and #737MAX airplanes. These systems were supplied by component manufacturer Collins Aerospace.

Researchers report that the simple presence of a first-class cabin on an airplane is correlated with an almost fourfold increase in the frequency of “air rage” incidents in economy class.
And when economy-class passengers are forced to pass through the luxurious first-class area on their way to the cramped economy seats, the rate of air rage incidents is more than seven times higher than if there are no first-class seats at all.
On average, these incidents occur in economy class just .14 times per 1,000 flights when there is no first-class cabin, but 1.58 times per 1,000 flights when there is a first-class cabin.
Among first-class passengers, air rage incidents occur 0.31 times per 1,000 flight

No sooner have airports introduced new scanning machines so you don’t need to unpack your carry-on bags, than a trend emerges where you photograph all your loose items in your airport security tray.
The “airport tray aesthetic” has taken off on TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest as people share artfully arranged shots of their sunglasses, shoes, toiletries and reading material inside the regulation polypropylene dishes.
Don’t expect crumpled plastic bags stuffed with toothpaste and Pepto-Bismol. This is aspirational travel, where your 35mm film camera nestles between your vintage loafers and your first-edition copy of “On the Road.”

Grumman Mallard at Miami Seaplane Base
Note: this image is old (from 2010). This place used to be the Miami base for Chalk’s Airlines flying these Mallards to the Bahamas daily. A wonderful sight to see them take off from water amongst the cruise ships. Sadly they had an accident and went under over 20 years ago.

For all those fans who think only #Boeing has issues with their aircraft these days:
Airbus is taking a turn on the negative-publicity rollercoaster. Cathay Pacific, the flagship carrier for Hong Kong, announced it has grounded its fleet of Airbus A350-1000s for inspection after finding faulty engine components in 15 of 18 aircraft. According to a report today (Sept. 3) in online outlet Channel News Asia, Cathay Pacific Flight CX383 took off from Hong Kong for Zurich, Switzerland, yesterday, but turned back after the failure of an unspecified component of one of its Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines. The twin-aisle Airbus landed safely 75 minutes after takeoff, following two holding circuits to burn fuel.
Reuters reported that a person familiar with the incident said the discrepancy involved a fuel nozzle. It is not clear whether the engine lost power. Cathay Pacific said in a statement that the flight was the “first of its type to suffer such failure on any A350 aircraft worldwide.”
