A quotation by Jefferson, Thomas

Some men look at Constitutions with sanctimonious reverence, & deem them, like the ark of the covenant, too sacred to be touched. they ascribe to the men of the preceding age a wisdom more than human, and suppose what they did to be beyond amendment. I knew that age well: I belonged to it, and labored with it. it deserved well of it’s country. it was very like the present, but without the experience of the present: and 40. years of experience in government is worth a century of book-reading: and this they would say themselves, were they to rise from the dead.

Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) American political philosopher, polymath, statesman, US President (1801-09)

Letter to “Henry Tompkinson” (Samuel Kercheval) (12 Jul 1816)

#Hm... 3 of the 4 founding members of Diaspora are still with us, even their posts are older.

It is @Ilya Zhitomirskiy, @Raphael Sofaer and @Maxwell Salzberg... cannot find Daniel Grippi.

D* was launched November 2010. And on August 28, 2012 Daniel and Maxwell announced, Diaspora* Will Now Be A Comunity Project.
As a PS. they write,

We also want to give special thanks to a few people who recently, and over the past few years, have shown us what a special community we have. It is by no means complete:
Mr ZYX, sean tilley, David Morley, Jan-Christoph Borchardt, Joe Braun, David Morley, Hans Fase, Florian Staudacher, Movilla, Stephan Schulz, Sarah Mei, Tom Scott, kinky joe, denschub, justin thomas, Steven Hancock, Diasp, Jason Robinson

For those interested, there is a video Daniel Grippi and Raphael Sofaer - on - Diaspora: Federated social networking from Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Question: Is Diaspora's web presence still owned by FSSN? And, is FSSN the Free Space Secure Network?

The Founders Were Wrong About Democracy
The authors of the Constitution feared mass participation would unsettle government, but it’s the privileged minority that has proved destabilizing.
FEBRUARY 15, 2021

David Frum
Staff writer at The Atlantic

American anti-majoritarians have always promised that minority privilege will deliver positive results: stability, sobriety, the security of the public debt, and tranquil and peaceful presidential elections. But again and again, those promises have proved the exact opposite of reality. In practice, the privileged minority has shown itself to be unstable and unsober.
