I've covered stories about wars and conflicts all my adult life. Been to one myself and sat in interviews with many people who fled conflicts, but I've never seen the level of brutality and disregard for rules of engagement as this assault on Gaza.
Again and again we have witnessed on camera, live and from eyewitness reports how IDF target ambulances, medical staff, people trying to reach the injured an hospitals.
And still nothing, absolutely nothing is heard much less actions from the hypocrites and disgusting people in power positions in the west.
It's like the stories I read about the people under Nazi occupation who saw what was happening and were hearing about them, and ignoring them. Always wondered how people could be that numbed, indifferent and evil.
Gaza have shown me that people just don't care at all. Specially since the victims are not easily associated with them and the decades of dehumanizing them have created such an unbelievable filter in their psyche that nothing, even saw images and videos of atrocities can change their minds.
My depression is so bad. It's like the days we were in Sweden trying to get the government and European countries to react to reports of the ongoing Genocide in Rwanda and couldn't get anyone other than the former communist party to take action. Today, even those are scared of standing up and calling for ceasfire and holding Israeli military and politicians accountable.
I wonder when (if everl will they react?
