The lost talks from Linus Torvalds at DECUS'94

... As I was cleaning my office I found some audio tapes made of Linus' talk, and which I purchased with my own money. Now, to make your present, I had to buy a good audio tape playback machine and capture the audio in Audacity, then produce a digital copy of those tapes, which are listed here. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of the slides, but I am not sure how many slides Linus had. I do not think you will need them....

#LinusTorvalds saying "free software" and NOT "open source"...: "When it comes to software, I much prefer free software, because I have very seldom seen a program that has worked well enough for my needs, and having sources available can be a life-saver."

Ted Ts'o: For those who believe the systemd developers are reasonable and will listen to constructive criticism.....ï»ż

Systemd intercepts kernel 'debug' boot parameter, floods dmesg, makes system unbootable. Or as Linus puts it in his summary:

Linus Torvalds

+Paul Morgan I think what you (and others) seem to miss is that the systemd people made the "debug" option that we introduced not just do something - but do something useless that actively broke other peoples use of that option.

It doesn't matter who "owns" it, the fact is, they broke it.

Ok, fine. Bugs happen, and that's not what makes people upset.

What makes me (and others) upset is that when the bug is reported, with explanations and a suggestion for how to fix it, Kay just closed the bug-report, claiming it wasn't a bug.
