As usual, it would seem that everything is the fault of the poor. Yet the reality is that a low, richer percentage of the planet contaminates more than the poorest 50% of the total world population, and that per capita emissions of the richer countries are much greater than those of the poorer ones.

But Arab #Christians make them, he said, from concern in two directions.

But their statements assert that they, like Palestinians, are not illegitimate children of the land, nor foreign to it.
“Arab Christians are often victims too,” Haidostian said. “To blame them for partiality is simplistic.”
And though he has a strong opinion about this current conflict, the Armenian leader urged Christians not to view the region as a monolith. Believers should be careful not to conflate biblical Israel with the modern state, he said, nor allow government and media rhetoric to shape their faith commitments.

The #US resolution obtained the double veto of Russia and #China, among other reasons, by not requesting an immediate and lasting humanitarian #ceasefire, while the Russian resolution, which did not recognize the right to self-defense of States, did not achieve the necessary votes.
The American document reaffirmed “the inherent right of all States to individual and collective self-defense,” although taking into account “international law.” It also called for “humanitarian pauses,” to allow full, rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access.
The Russian resolution called for “an immediate, lasting and fully respected humanitarian ceasefire.”
