OK... guess I'll take a walk... "If you can't beat 'em, join em...
Usually Sunday would be a busy day for social media buzz, especially with so many events...
But everywhere I look it's very quiet, across 'social media' like "X", Post, Mastodon... Maybe it's just me (and you?)

I Think We're Alone Now 🎶 🦗

And...
Joe Walsh, Pt. 3/3

This track/album was not obtainable for a while, as Ravel's ghost objected (copyright issues).
But I have long loved this song medley - especially how he launches into Bolero. 🎸 🎧
Listen loud w/ big speakers or headphones to fully appreciate. Almost like how it sounded live. (Lots of echo, delay, on solos)

The Bomber A: Closet Queen B: Bolero C: Cast Your Fate To The Wind (Medley)

No, it's not another "Funk" at the beginning.... just similar, his style (like Fogerty of CCR, with his driving chugga chugga chugga)

Joe Walsh, Pt. 2/3

Saw/re-posted "Funk #49" the other day, performed with Ringo at his 80th Birthday (tnx Netwitch). I was looking for another "ear worm" favorite from James Gang, and came across this, an excellent "three'fer". (triple song fer the price of one). The first funk too!
( #48 )

So here's a triad of Joe Walsh tracks:

🎶 🎸 🎧

JAMES GANG: Walk Away, Funk 48 AND Funk 49) THREE SONGS!! HQ

For those not familiar with this ancient music history, Joe Walsh - he became the guitar guy with the Eagles (like Paul McCartney's old band was Beatles)... The other song I was looking for was one I saw live, with lots of echo/delay (as he played along with himself, live), and it went into a very memorable version of Bolero, which got the album pulled back from distribution and pulled off radio (copyright issues!).

Stay tuned for part 3 - will post separate so player will display.

Because...
Tip of the iceberg from an album I tried to remember the name of for years...

Sort of a cross between Genesis (wall of sound), Pink Floyd (vocals), and say Buckingham or McGuinn on guitar/12 string, and Who/Kinks 'rock opera'. Some traces of Traffic as well, part of the overall 60's/70s tapestry. Hm, Pearly Queen reference?

Fidgety Queen

This is my decades old ear-worm, finally free at last. Came to me like nectar from the gods... (Tnx EL!)
Carnival time! (Bit of "Frankenstein" too?)

This is cued up to "Fidgety Queen", a good introduction for the many who have never heard (of) this band.
The track is part of the entire album here; you can let it play on to a lovely guitar song ("Oh Willy") and then a ballad/anthem which features the 12-string and lovely tune, with a refrain which reminds me of Floyd or maybe David Bowie.... Little Boy...
*Gently slip away"

If you get hooked, go back and start at the beginning; starts off strong (Astral Man) and weaves from song to song like a real 'rock opera', IMM at the time, like a circus. Headphones or good/loud speakers strongly recommended. 🎧 This is the #70s (when I was in the biz, and heard this in a studio and later at rock festivals... ) Great album, finally recalled (been online 3 years now I see) Enjoy

Karma express...

Sometimes a walk is heaven, sometimes things are not right, and it's a good time to walk..
This was a little blip of airplay in a fun time to be, mid-70's and Neil's walking the guitar in new directions,... Fun times for walks.

"Walk On" - Neil Young

I remember the good old days
Stayed up all night gettin' crazed
Then the money was not so good
But we still did the best we could
Ooh baby, that's hard to change
I can't tell them how to feel
Some get stoned, some get strange
Sooner or later it all gets real
Walk on, walk on

A lunchtime diversion - late 60's/early 70's - FM Radio transitions and segues - A baker's 1/2 Dozen Faves 🎶

It began with the posting of a Fat Mattress (1969) song, which rang a bell. Fat Mattress has a tiny niche-of-honor in my memories and in music history. To me it was sort of a cross between early Jethro Tull (This Was) and Traffic, with the backbone of Noel Redding here.

The band - not coincidentally?! - also featured Chris Wood (Traffic) on the track "All Night Drinker", which makes perfect sense as another foggy memory is seeing Chris Wood fall off the stage, drunken... Oh, and Martin Barre (Tull) was in the band briefly, too.

This said, seeing the image of the album (which I have on vinyl, without the song which was posted - UK version) - set off many associations to the album and its context (1969).

And that brings me to an immediate short-list of tracks comprising 1/2 dozen of my most beloved songs for radio segues between or into/out of sets.

From the 1969 Fat Mattress album (in my 3rd hand as I type)...

"I saw a bird, flying in the sky... He looked at me, I wonder why..."

Pretty depressing actually, maybe reflecting Neil Redding's situation at the time, booted from Hendrix.
He doesn't even play the bass on this track (plays guitar).

"Context and Perspective!"

But before I forget, one more to add to this 'baker's 1/2 dozen' of 'easy listening' FM/LP fare, and favorite segues:
