Ich hab vor ein paar Tagen mal mein XMPP-Server mit der diaspora DB verbunden und damit kann jetzt jeder sein diaspora-Account auch als XMPP-Account nutzen. Wenn ihr in euren Kontakten bei einigen Aspekten oben rechts das Chat-Symbol aktiviert, kriegt ihr diese sogar direkt in eurer XMPP-Kontaktliste angezeigt. Das funktioniert aber nur, wenn die Gegenstelle das gleiche tut und bis jetzt scheinen noch nicht viele andere Pods XMPP zu unterstützen (oder die Leute sind nicht online), darum sieht das dann immernoch relativ leer/offline aus.
Ihr könnt das Konto aber auch als normalen XMPP-Account nutzen und andere (nicht-diaspora) XMPP-Kontakte hinzufügen. Ich habe nicht den in diaspora eingebauten Web-Client aktiviert, da das immernoch relativ schlecht funktioniert, aber ihr könnt euch mit jedem x-beliebigen XMPP-Client verbinden (mit euren diaspora Zugangsdaten), und das funktioniert dann 100mal besser als wenn das in die Weboberfläche integriert wäre. :)
I connected my XMPP-Server with the diaspora DB a few days ago and everybody can now use their diaspora-account as an xmpp-account too. If you enable the chat-icon in your contacts on some aspects at the top right, they get added directly to your xmpp-contacts. But this only works when the other side does the same and until now not many pods support XMPP (or nobody is online there), so it looks still pretty empty/offline.
But you can just use it as a normal xmpp-account and add (non-diaspora) xmpp-contacts to it. I didn't activate the built-in web-client because the UX with it is still pretty bad, but you can just use whatever xmpp-client you want to connect (with your diaspora login credentials) and it works 100-times better than what's currently integrated in diaspora. :)
