A bit of work on the helmet...kinda like how this worked out compared to the Mellotex work... both papers are good, still evaluating...

I'm gonna try (at least for now) doing The Aviator again on both Mellotex and Olin papers. Hope I'm not boring or making people crazy with these postings. If so I'll back off a bit. I'm thinking the best way to compare the two is to work them simultaneously, that way I can judge how the graphite is falling on the paper and how easy or difficult the details and features are to accomplish.

another hour or so working on the shirt…
I was hoping to finish this over the past weekend, but damn....relearning so much after years of not working with the pencils. :(
After playing a bit with the 'new' Olin paper...I'm thinking of doing this same drawing on all three.
I'd already planned to do it on both Conquer and Mellowtex paper when I started it years ago to do a comparison (but already had a distaste for the Conqueror paper, but one that is nearly finished now).
Went ahead and erased my test marks on this olin page (the one on the left. Mellotex in the middle) and sketched/traced in the initial drawing on the Olin. We'll see if I end up doing all three or not...may work on them simultaneously or more likely finish the Conquer version first...

Maybe I'll do the same pic on Olin. I was doing some test marking and shading on the Olin when I thought to begin tracing/sketching the current WIP. I ended up just now erasing the shading and marks which were on the top area of the Olin paper (on the left btw) and am very very impressed with the ability to erase on the Olin!

:: 46-053 Inktober 3-5 ::
3 in 1! I'll be sharing my Inktober sketches in compilations like this to avoid spamming the stream. My dA notifications are now filled with people's Inktober submissions and I'm like omggg @_@ (since Inktober is the one time all dormant artists come alive).
Inktober 3: Path (top-left)
Tsumura faces problems with the government's OS.
I cleaned up the paper's lines a bit... and finally used a pen.
PC: "The system cannot find the path specified."
Tsumura: Seriously? (This what'chu get when it ain't my stuff.)
Inktober 4: Dodge (on right)
I was gonna do something OC-related, but stuff came up at work and all I could think of was how my bosses dodge all responsibilities. I should have made the person in there be holding on to something called 'side businesses', but ehh...
The second panel is just me releasing some stress. It's my OC Aaron (the best boss ever), mimicking the famous "Dodge this" scene from The Matrix (1999). Woulda put a label on the gun for it to represent something related, but I decided that these bosses are better off shot with an actual gun. -_-
Inktober 5: Map (bottom-left)
Ofc I draw better in pencil than a chonky ballpen. xD
My OCs! They are soldier boy Thiazi and camp leader Jayden. Thiazi is supposed to be much bigger that that, being of the Aquila race, but I didn't want him to take up too much space in my drawing, lol.
The people of Nexus are still rebuilding their civilisation, and Thiazi is helping Jayden update the world map (authentic bird's eye view!). He may not look it, but Thiazi is happy to contribute (his 'reward' comes in the fact that only he can provide this info).
