I love this.
Easter Tree • Osterbaum/Osterstrauch

  • "This German Easter tradition is actually two different things. This can be confusing, because the English phrase “Easter tree” (or bush) can refer to: (1) an outdoor tree or bush decorated with Easter eggs, or (2) an indoor tree-like or bush-like arrangement of dry twigs/branches set in a vase to form an egg-adorned twig “bouquet.” In German it becomes clearer: der OsterstrauĂź (Easter bouquet, arrangement) is the indoor “flower” arrangement; the Osterbaum is outdoors in a public space or in one’s own yard or garden. The photo shows an indoor OsterstrauĂź."

#Dartmoor in #springtime. The landscape of Dartmoor is quite varied although it is geologically a #granite intrusion into the Earth's crust it has been shaped by weathering, erosion and human intervention, such as #agriculture and #forestry. Here we see a #river #valley in the background and a #TreeStump in the foreground. The weather was as benign as can be expected there as you can tell by the blue #sky and light clouds.

Good Friday! (both a wish and a Holiday)

Here is a collection of images from yesterday and today, both days seeing me walking east side/west side, and mid-town Manhattan.
Mostly in search of tulips/daffodils, blossoms, and signs of spring.

What I found are some white blossoms in front of buildings, only a few pink cherry blossoms, and many displays (mostly planters) of daffodils and tulips. And crowds are back around Times Square. Not hot today, slightly chilly, but sunny. Spring continues to spring.

Good weekend! Happy Holidays!
