I've mainly been growing lettuces in my two hugel mounds with no plan for a succession crop. On Saturday, on a whim, I direct sowed about 40-50 each of dried black and pinto beans I bought at the grocery store. I didn't really know what to expect, but they've sprouted shockingly fast. So far 5 days on I count 18 black bean sprouts and 1 pinto.

I have no idea if these are bush or climbing varieties, but I would guess than large scale growers that supply supermarkets wouldn't grow pole beans. Right?

4 beans soup with corn in my new second hand cast iron pot.

Used vegetables from the balcony and cooked with green lentils, black lentils,mong beans, daal lentils with corn, slow cooked in the pot I bought from a guy back in Paris, but never used before.

Took advantage of being back in Paris for a short time and bought a lot of beans and spices at half the price compared to those in south of France.

It's unbelievable how much cheaper these products are in Paris. I bought 2 full bags of beans, spices, peanut butter and vegetables for 53 euros. The same items would cost me at least 90-100 euros here in the south.

Carrying them on the full packed train was a drag but now I can make some delicious Indian food for the coming months.

Beschämt muss ich eingestehen, dass ich aus diesen sehr guten Bohnen #java nur relativ wenige richtig gute Tassen herausbekommen habe. 十全七美 muss ich sagen. Zu anspruchsvolle Bohne, daheim nicht sonderlich ertragreich.

Nur wenn die Zubereitung handwerklich gut gelungen war schmeckte dieser Kaffee. 亂七八糟 rächt sich sofort mit Mittelmäßigkeit (zu flüssig/sauer/bitter, you name it).

Die gewünschte Qualität war einfacher hinzubekommen beim Doppio. Dennoch, "Pur nicht für jeden", steht sogar drauf. Point taken.

Teurer Spaß, bloß weniger lustig. Vor dem nächsten Beutel werde ich dann mal weiter an mir arbeiten.
