Bow Bridge - February 2022

One is looking at it in profile its South-facing arched bridge walls. The sun is setting behind me, over Strawberry Fields. 🍓
The sun is setting quickly. These are taken in natural light, but low light. That's why it's dark. Lamps have not yet lit.
This is how it looked/looks.

The other image is from ON the bridge, facing West, where the sun is waiting to set. Straight ahead, center: The Dakota.

Where John & Yoko enjoyed this view and park so dearly. One other triviata (or not) - This bridge is one of the most filmed places (along with Tivoli Fountain) , as in Hollywood movies and weddings and photo-shoots. Anyway, today was a snow day.

Bow Bridge (Central Park NYC) in Autumn

One last visit to Bow Bridge to check its colors before turning my sights to Shakespeare Gardens and Belvedere Castle.

This one I like because it captures all of the flower planters now atop the bridge and many of the nearby trees are in full bloom.

Bow Bridge with Flowers, Balloons & Tourists

The colors are still turning in Central Park, and the flowers on Bow Bridge are lovely, and rowboats are being rowed again.
On this day, I returned to a favorite and deservedly well-known spot, and found balloons amid the colors. And tourists! All good.

Searching For Autumn - Pt. 2

Here's some bright sky from the perspective of flowers on Bow Bridge's planters this fine November day.

I'm not sure, but they look like daisies to me.
There's a great guide to the endless variety of plants in Central Park, but this one isn't named specific to Bow Bridge. Maybe it comes from the Shakespeare garden -seems quite possible, as it's autumn and the Park Conservancy might have picked some for the lovely Bow Bridge displays. https://www.centralparknyc.org/plants ]

Bow Bridge - November 1, 2021

NYC is still just beginning to cool down and turn autumn-red and orange. In the past few years it's usually taken until mid-November.

Today the park was busier than I've seen since 2020, more people speaking more languages, and many pro photographers doing shoots on Bow Bridge and Bethesda Terrace. Best of all, the rowboats are back on the lake. And crews are busy building the finish line bleachers and viewing stands for the NYC Marathon. So, I'm happy to have gone today before all the barricades are up...

Last for now....It was not easy getting to Bow Bridge from several directions.
On the bridge, the plants seem very well watered. As do the trails to and from the bridge.
In the background is The Dakota and San Remo (Central Park West)
