Glasgow commuters stranded as freezing weather plagues electric buses

The freezing weather last week disrupted #Glasgow's #electric #buses, causing their batteries to drain faster than usual, and leaving people stranded during their commute.

Some of First Bus’s double-deckers were halted mid-journey due to the freezing temperatures.

I've less confidence in battery powered airliners. It's a bit chilly at altitude.

The preserved dining room of the house where Charles Rennie MacKintosh and Margaret MacDonald lived in the west end of Glasgow.

What always strikes me when I visit this house is how modern the interior feels, even a century after it was created

Apparently, this was once a common feature of door bells, and was even parodied by A.A. Milne in Winnie the Pooh. However, this is the only surviving example I've ever come across in Glasgow.

This drinking fountain is not unique in having crocodiles in its canopy, and identical crocs can be found in at least two other Glasgow drinking fountains.

I've never been to sure why, but the figures become increasingly disrobed as you move from left to right across the building.

The hair is especially well done. It's above a side door to the old Glasgow Savings Bank building on New City Road, which was designed by Niel C. Duff and was built in 1910.
