The transcript is okay'ish, but it's still worth a listen. Generally, repeatedly, what I really, fully, totally admire about the atproto / Bluesky approach is their take on user data and identity even as a mere mortal. Like: Even without being required to "run infrastructure" of your own, be able to tie all you have to your own domain name, your own online identity and be able to take, handle, move that as you see fit. Too, in example, the option to use a custom domain name even on infrastructure operated by others has been around for ages in Tumblr and for quite a while in micro.blog, and whyever this hasn't been a first-class baked-in feature with every other federated network and most specifically "newer" implementations and standards such as ActivityPub or Mastodon is something I have a hard time wrapping my head around.

August went fast didn't it, soon I will have completed yet another trip around the sun. To get around the sun every year we are real daredevils and race around at 67,100 mph (107,986 kph). Around and around, we go where we stop nobody knows, though I read somewhere the earth only has about a billion years left, before that starts and maybe 4-5 billion years before the moon abandons us and the sun explodes. Humankind ... well ... probably not that long. But we have a few days until then, let's make the best of it.

8am, deviations in reading. Today: Controlling and enforcing goals in agile teams. The usual idea of adding a layer of top-down management to structures supposed to be self-organizing and motivated. Closing the magazine, wondering whether at some point cultural shifts might become obvious and reality. (And then, distracted by the birds singing in the office backyard, echoed a myriad of times by concrete and steel. Prepared, counting, waiting.)

Schließlich folgt unruhiger Nacht ein schwungloser Morgen. Noch zwei Augenblicke im Liegen verweilen, mit geschlossenen Augen, bis sich das Schwindelgefühl des Wiedereintritts in wache Realität gelegt hat. Die Krähen über dem Hof klingen heute etwas zorniger als sonst, darüber hinaus ist der Morgen still und reglos und bleibt dem Wolkengrau dieser Wochen sehr überzeugend treu. Unten ruft das kleinste Kind aus dem Bad lautstark und mit aufgeregter Stimme nach seinen Eltern, was mit einem Seufzen von anderswo quittiert wird, und dieser kurze Ton fasst vieles sehr treffend zusammen in dieser späten frühen Stunde. Also erst einmal Kaffee, und dann wird zu bewerten sein, wieviel Plan dieser Mittwoch braucht. Habt es mild heute!
