Meanwhile... it's 2024 and this is definitely still true.
Recent release from Playing for Change.

Waiting for the World to Change

Wonderful music and tastes of instruments and cultures around the planet.
John Mayer wrote sang this a few years back, and we've seen: it's not enough for younger generations to just wait....

Musicians perform from across our shared planet. Great sound & sights. And we've been waiting, but... time for action, voting, etc.

One more from Playing for Change while I’m still enjoying the release of a new tune with John Paul Jones (of Led Zeppelin) doing an old standard about a flood. which he and the band covered on Led Zeppelin IV.

So the algorithm gods of YouTube - bad Google! - seem to weight my recent viewing of the new release. Here’s what they dealt me now: The Weight is Over.

The Weight

Robbie Robertson (from The Band) and some rhythm from Ringo (from The Beatles).
With some great musicians from all around the planet. #PlayingForChange

And now for something completely different... (or not)

Hearing this just-released track, definitely caught my ear.
Look who's playing here!
Why it's John Paul Jones on bass, and "Playing for Change". Brand new, as in released within the past 24 hours. (18 Feb 2022)
Some may recall this as a Led Zeppelin song (Led Zep IV album), or if you're 100+ years old, maybe the original!
