Resembling a purple sea anemone, it is a very scarce flower in this country, found only in a few localised places and favouring south-facing chalkland.

It is bizarre but beautiful.

Some flowers from my garden for your viewing pleasure (one more pic in the comments)(btw I thought the flowers in the 3rd picture were from a bee balm plant, but it’s an actually Rocky Mountain Bee Plant! Maybe that is still the same thing, I have no idea.)
