Five people have been arrested, the latest of them an Israeli #army officer, as part of the investigation into leaked classified documents from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The leaked documents were allegedly written by Hamas, forming the basis of an article in London’s Jewish Chronicle suggesting Hamas had planned to smuggle hostages out of #Gaza via #Egypt; as well as an article in the German newspaper Bild saying Hamas was prolonging hostage talks as a form of psychological warfare against Israel.

According to public broadcaster Kan, the leaked material was not found by Israeli forces in Gaza, but was discovered thanks to “another kind of intelligence.” Prosecutors are taking the case so seriously in part because it risks revealing key intelligence-gathering methods to #Hamas.

“WHO is concerned about the impact of these denials on Gaza’s strained healthcare system,” said the organization in a statement, pointing out that just 17 of the area’s 36 hospitals remain functional.

Palestinian Territory - An urgent international intervention is needed to send rescue and ambulance crews to a residential block in #Jabalia Camp, in the northern #Gaza Strip, after Israeli occupation forces bombed it last night. The horrifying massacre, during which Israeli forces destroyed homes over the heads of their residents, also requires a serious international investigation.
 
Initial reports from the Euro-Med Monitor field team state that at least 13 homes in Block 7 on Jabalia Camp’s Al-Houja Street were bombed by Israeli warplanes at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday 24 October. The residents of these homes chose to remain in the area and not follow the Israeli evacuation orders, particularly after the Israeli occupation army targeted people who attempted to leave their homes and killed them in the streets or arrested and mistreated them.
