This Rabbi is charged with anti terrorism charges: This morning, seven rabbis and activists were arrested by Israeli police at the Gaza border as part of a delegation of thirty rabbis and other peace activists with Rabbis for Ceasefire from Israel and the United States who were attemping to bring food supplies into #Gaza through the Erez crossing.
The Passover Haggadah reads, “Let all who are hungry come and eat,” and teaches us that we must work for the freedom of all people. The Israeli government is enacting a famine on the people of Gaza. Forced starvation is just one of the many weapons of war that the Israeli state is using against the 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
This group of rabbis and activists came to the Erez Border crossing on Passover carrying aid in coordination with UNRWA, an organization critical to providing international aid to avert famine and further catastrophe for the people in Gaza. The Israeli government has banned #UNRWA from operating in northern Gaza. Rabbis for Ceasefire is bringing food aid to demonstrate this dire need, to call for the opening of all border crossings to allow in aid, and to demand an end to the siege on Gaza.
Food aid is essential but not sufficient. To save the lives of Palestinians on the verge of death by the Israeli government's policy of forced starvation and siege, there must also be sufficient infrastructure in place to safely supply and distribute food alongside medical care. Life for Palestinian people is impossible without a permanent #ceasefire and lifting of the siege on Gaza.
As Rabbi Brant Rosen says, "next year, may there be liberation from the river to the sea."

The Central American nation accuses #Berlin of violating its obligations under the 1948 #Genocide Convention and other “intransgressible principles of international humanitarian law,” including the Fourth Geneva Convention
#Nicaragua argues that “each and every” party to the Genocide Convention has a duty “to do everything possible to prevent the commission of genocide” and that since October 2023 there has been “a recognized risk of genocide against the Palestinian people, directed first of all against the population of the #Gaza Strip.”
By sending vast quantities of military equipment to Israel and defunding #UNRWA, the #UN agency that provides essential humanitarian support to the population of Gaza, Nicaragua charges that “Germany is facilitating the commission of genocide and, in any case has failed in its obligation to do everything possible to prevent the commission of genocide.”

Hoewel Abuelaish veel westerse critici van Hamas hypocriet vindt, constateert hij ook dat niet alle Gazanen de beweging steunen. „Vorige zomer waren we getuige van protestdemonstraties in de Gazastrook tegen Hamas. Er zijn veel mensen die snakken naar vrije democratische verkiezingen. Palestijnen zijn geen extremisten.” (...)

According to media reports, Senator Graham reportedly attacked UNRWA and allegedly claimed that the relief agency has taught Palestinian children to "kill all the Jews," leading to the organization being declared "dead to the US."
This occur amidst Israel's failure to provide evidence for its allegations and claims of certain organizations' involvement in the events of October 7th. As a result, all countries except the US have reinstated funding for #UNRWA.
