Au Népal, la population du tigre a triplé depuis 2009.

Le pays abrite désormais 355 félins, soit une augmentation de 190% depuis 2009. À l’heure de l’effondrement global de la biodiversité, cette annonce représente une véritable victoire pour les défenseurs de la nature. [et surtout pour la nature].
L’une des principales réussites du Népal dans ses projets de conservation du félin est l’importance que le gouvernement accorde au reboisement des couloirs de vie sauvage, qui permettent aux tigres de se déplacer au sein d’un habitat hautement fragmenté.
Mais le pays a enregistré une augmentation alarmante des conflits entre les félins et les communautés vivants à proximité des zones protégées, car une grande partie des personnes vivants à proximité de ces zones naturelles dépendent encore grandement de la forêt pour leurs besoins alimentaires et en énergie.
