UNRWA ;:A joint 109-truck #un convoy carrying food supplies to people in #Gaza was violently looted on 16 November. The vast majority of the trucks, 97 in total, were lost and drivers were forced at gunpoint to unload aid.
Due to critical shortages of flour, all eight UN-supported bakeries in Deir al Balah and Khan Younis have been operating at diminished capacity for weeks. Many have been forced to shut down entirely.
Without immediate intervention, severe food shortages are set to worsen, further endangering the lives of over 2 million people who depend on humanitarian aid to survive.
The Israeli authorities continue to disregard their legal obligations under international law to ensure the population's basic needs are met and to facilitate the safe delivery of aid. Western States Oppose Motion Condemning Nazism
The US, Canada, Germany and Ukraine have voted against the Russia-initiated resolution
A total of 54 countries, mostly Western states, have rejected a Russia-initiated resolution condemning Nazism in a vote at the UN on Monday.
However, their opposition did not prevent the Third Committee of the General Assembly from accepting the resolution, titled “Combating the Glorification of Nazism, Neo-Nazism, and Other Practices That Contribute to Fueling Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance.”
The document was supported by 116 countries, including Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Cuba, Serbia and Syria. Another 11 UN members abstained.

Euro-Med Media: As Israel insists on using starvation as weapon, famine in northern Gaza must be officially declared
Palestinian Territory – Given that Israel has blocked the entry of goods and aid to the hundreds of thousands of besieged residents in the northern #Gaza Strip for more than 50 days now, the relevant international and #UN organisations must formally declare #famine in the region. #Israel’s use of #starvation as a #weapon is one component of its ongoing #genocide in the Strip, which also includes mass killings and forced displacement.
Due to the illegal Israeli blockade on the enclave, 10s of thousands of Palestinians, including dozens of patients in three #hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, are in immediate danger of starvation or long-term health consequences.

#SouthAfrica on Monday (October 28) filed a detailed submission to the International Court of Justice ( #ICJ) outlining evidence of #Israel’s alleged violation of the #1948 #Genocide Convention in its ongoing war on #Gaza.
According to the South African presidency, the submission, also called a memorial, includes 750 pages of evidence of acts of genocide and genocidal intent.
"The evidence will show that undergirding Israel’s genocidal acts is the special intent to commit genocide, a failure by Israel to prevent incitement to genocide, to prevent genocide itself and its failure to punish those inciting and committing acts of genocide," a statement by the presidency said.
It added that the evidence is presented in more than 750 pages of text, in addition to over 4,000 pages of annexes.
"South Africa’s Memorial is a reminder to the global community to remember the people of #Palestine, to stand in solidarity with them and to stop the catastrophe. The devastation and suffering has been possible only because despite the ICJ and numerous #UN bodies’ actions and interventions, Israel has failed to comply with its international obligations,” it said.
The submission may not be made public, in accordance with the rules of the court, said the presidency.
Israel will have a deadline of 28 July 2025 to file a response, known as counter-memorial.
