Since Spotify, Bandcamp and Co. are interested in money and not in music, we have decided to release the music of our label step by step for streaming with “Suzy Q Records D.I.Y. Streaming” for people who don't want vinyl or want to listen to our music on the go.
Streaming is free and you can also download the songs for free. There is no advertising and you are 100% anonymous. We'll start with our new album “Moral Panic” and (we're happy to say) with our Japan 7” ‘Satanic Rockabilly’.
If you like it (which I hope) and want to support the bands, be fair and use one of the donation buttons - I don't know any other way to provide a service like this. But only if you want to. Because it's still true: MUSIC IS FREE! Have fun :))) #streaming #music #free #faircamp #independent

Bandcamp is just another prison
There's an unshakeable belief that Bandcamp is somehow the ethical alternative to Spotify and the like. Sure, that's even shittier. But Bandcamp is a greedy monster that lives off the talents of others, you have to buy into the playlists, pay very high fees and are at the mercy of an algorithm that favors those who are favored anyway. Using Bandcamp is like buying vegan products from Nestlé, it seems nice at first, but it only strengthens those who are actually the problem. Luckily, there is the FOSS scene and since yesterday I know that Simon Repp @freebliss has made a great start with his Faircamp https://simonrepp.com/faircamp/. A very lightweight static streaming site for bands and independent labels as it should be. It's still very alpha, but you can easily see that there's a diamond that just needs to be polished. Open standard protocols, no database, no PHP. You don't even need a server, a web space is enough. Super cool. Unfortunately I don't know Rust, but as a know-it-all I can tell you what sucks ;) I set it up as a test for my label Suzy Q Records https://music.undeadnetwork.de/. It's not really in production mode yet, but it will be. Looks super cool. Exactly what I need to get D.I.Y. Underground music onto the free net. Great project, well worth supporting.

About the Channel im.allmendenetz.de/@ehma

This pages are a demo site by allmendenetz.de for demonstrating how Faircamp - a static site generator for audio producers - and Hubzilla - a #CMS for the Fediverse - can work together as one system to present music in a network like the Fediverse.

By the decentralized #Fediverse network millions of attendees have the option to get in contact with you, follow and commend your #music releases and read all your news without depending on a single network provider.

With #Faircamp it is quid easy to generate beautiful looking webpages on your pc for presenting your audio files in the internet.

With #Hubzilla audio producer get the option to host this webpages easy on the web and in the Fediverse so that also a combination with your personal network news channel can be easy realized. Also they get the option to distributed files with the fine graded permissions system of Hubzilla. So not every thing has to be public and e.g. special downloads can be grated just to selected contacts and also connect to the Hubzilla #shop app.

In an ideal case an audio producer would install such a system under an own domain but also the option to host several artists under one hub URL may be interesting for some.

So for this demo site we were looking for a special musician and so we found the lovey music pieces by ehma which are all licensed under copyleft licenses.

Have a look, listen and enjoy.[/quote]
