In hindsight, Azerbaijan was able to bring #Artsakh into submission by reasonably limited military means in 2023, compared to the full-scale war of 2020. Truth be told, disarmament is best for both sides, and Nagorno-Karabakh returning to Azeri control has always only been a matter of time.
Although we would have prefered to see a diplomatic resolution to this conflict, the reality is that Artsakh would have never willingly given up its territory, except under the threat of military force.
From our perspective, the Azerbaijani armed forces showed a reasonable degree of restraint in their use of violence in yesterday's operation.
Our position has always been that Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to the Republic of Azerbaijan. However it should be noted that Armenians have a right to live in these lands, and their protection must be the primary issue on the agenda now. We hope that Russia and Azerbaijan will work together to ensure the safety of the civilian Armenian population.
Now that Nagorno-Karabakh has returned to Azerbaijani authority, this should be the end of Baku's military campaigns. They now own all the land that legally belongs to them, as recognized by international law.
If #Azerbaijan intends to be adventurous, and threatens military action against Armenia proper under the pretext of opening up the #Zangezur corridor, the whole world will see that #Baku cannot be trusted.
In this case, Iran and #Russia will certainly intervene, but we hope this scenario does not become a reality, as it will be devastating for the region.
President Aliyev assured US Secretary of State Antony #Blinken that Azerbaijan will indeed stop its Anti-Terrorism military operation in Karabakh, under only 1 condition: If the Armenians surrender all their weapons and accept that Karabakh is Azerbaijan Territory

PS. Image from video showing group of Azeris in Baku celebrating "victory" in #Karabakh.
— During the video, the #Azerbaijani military, as during the 44-day war, is seen actively using #Israeli Spike NLOS ATGMs during a new military operation in #Karabakh. The video shows the moment of today's destruction of the P-18 radar of the #Artsakh Defense Army
— "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemns the so-called "presidential elections", held on September 9 in the territory of Karabakh (the Republic of Azerbaijan).
Conducting the so-called "presidential elections" is contrary to the rules and principles of international law and their results are null and void.
Ukraine once again expresses its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan within its internationally recognized borders and stands for a diplomatic settlement of the Karabakh conflict."
Faacists backing up each others.
#Propaganda like this has been spreading, not only by Azeri nationalist accounts, but even by state media.
In addition, it is worth mentioning that the use of the "∀", seen a few days ago painted on several Azerbaijani military vehicles, is expanding. Its meaning is still unknown to us, but it is being used as war propaganda (and possibly as identification) in the same way as the famous Russian "Z's".
Here are some examples that we have seen on nationalist/pan-Turkish and military social media accounts.

Being far from Western democratic standards, #Azerbaijan is regularly criticised by the #EuropeanUnion and the United States. And yet the hands of the #West are tied. The reason is that Azerbaijan is one of the very few gas suppliers that can help #Europe to reduce its dependence on #Gazprom at least to some extent, even if not completely. The TAP pipeline brings Azerbaijan’s natural gas to the Adriatic coast of #Italy, and the volume of supplies through this pipeline is going to double.
#Armenia also has good relations with the West: it signed an association agreement with the #EU under Serzh Sargsyan (the provisions that irritated #Russia were allegedly removed from the text) and has been successfully participating in the Eastern Partnership programme. Armenia is particularly close to European rivals of #Turkey: #France, #Greece and #Cyprus. All this results in a concoction that seems rather bizarre nowadays: the country feels equally comfortable with Sputnik and Radio Liberty, with radically pro-Russian and pro-Western players being active in the political arena (the latter accusing Russia of aggression against #Ukraine).

Amid the new war/escalation/whatever between Armenia and Azerbaijan, shout out to the ones (no matter where they are), who do not find themselves neither among bloodthirsty, far right, hypocrite nationalists nor self-proclaimed leftists, but in reality, elitist peace-building programs, that are nothing more than fancy dinners and trips and so on and so forth, projects oftentimes coordinated far from the conflict zones (even when led by ethnic Armenians and/or Azerbaijanis), board members of which never take necessary-risks finding all the excuses simply not to admit how hesitant they are to step out of their comfort zone. Shout out to all the professionals, especially journalists and filmmakers who refuse to write an article/shoot a film for regional media platforms aimed at dialogue and conflict transformation today and support right-wing initiatives/language/ideologies tomorrow.
A lot can be written, but does it make sense?
All my gratitude to the journalists, documentary filmmakers, initiatives and all people who are honest and open in their actions and intentions, and who prioritize professionalism, humanity, love and understanding no matter how tough and dark everything seems to be.
And yes, I am devastated, angry and exhausted, and I have the right to feel so!!!
The village of Taghavard was split in half by the post-war border. The Armenian part was cut off from the fields, pastures and forests. An old man, who used to be an architect and built many houses in his native village, lives near the new border with his livestock. Every morning, the old man risks his life to take his buffalos to a small field near the border. One day he decides to leave. Will he ever return?

" Looking down, examining his thoughts, Davit thinks out loud. “I do not have hatred towards Azerbaijanis, and many other soldiers who participated in this war also don’t. I would like them not to have it inside them as well. Because we all saw what the consequences of the hatred are. But till now we haven’t seen what peace can bring to our countries. Maybe we should try and see? There is nothing more important than human life. My life has as much value as the soldier’s life who is standing in front of me…”
“… I am sorry for those lives I have taken. Let them know that there is one Davit in the world who suffers because of that…”
" Harutyunyan says it is due to both the level of consciousness and the culture that people don’t talk much about it. “Even my sister who has a very broad worldview used to say ’the guy should serve, he has to become a man. Okay, I am a boy, but why should I not see my close ones for two years just because I am a boy? Why should my life stop for two years just because I was born male? What kind of prehistoric, Stone Age mentality is that that guy becomes a man only when he serves in the army?”
