Using a 1L bottle with 2 holes about 2cm bellow the top is helping to feed the plants in the #IKEA #Växer system with constant access to water and nutrients.

I believe that was the main reason most people who bought the units failed to enjoy it and had to resell it at low cost or simply keep it in storage unit they throw them away.

Good for me since I bought all but one unit from the French web site LebonCoin at a fraction of the price of what they were sold by IKEA.

On this unit, I have 4 #tomato plants, 1 @parsley, one giant #mint and 2 radishes. It's consuming about 1L per day as tomatoes starting to grow, and maybe have to give more water and nutrients to help producing more in the coming weeks.

These little guys are helping me more than my medication to calm down and relax from the daily stress and troubles.

Desperately looking for the e level large IKEA Krydda system.

Feeling really stupid that I didn't buy them when people were selling those. The size is so much more suitable for growing vegetables and 3 levels is making it perfect for the little space I have by the entrance of the balcony.

Most people who bought it failed because the container is neither deep not big enough for that many planta, but with my DIY trick I have managed to grow lots of herbs in the smaller unit that has only 8 holes pee reservoir, compared to 15 on the big ones (minus one for the extra water feeding).

3 lettuce heads with their roots from Lidl!

While I'm waiting for my lettuce to become big enough to eat, I bought another tricolor-lettuce from #Lidl today.

I'm going to clean up the roots, get rid of all the coco peat there and put them in my #IKEA #Krydda hydroponic unit.

Already cut some leaves for last night's sandwich. I'm sure these will thrive in my system and will have fresh lettuce for many days ahead of me.

Made a few items from scrap wood to put on top of my #IKEA #krydda units so I can place a few pots on top of it.

It's not pretty, but functioning. May sand it and paint it black to look good on top of the units and blend in.

Miss the wide windows of our rental place in south of Paris. It was great to grow everything in winter.

Here I have a window by the kitchen table and a balcony door that opens in whi h makes it hard to use.

Improvising and may even put 2 hydroponic units on top of each other to get 4 stages plus one on top.

Simple addition to IKEA krydda Hydroponic unit to keep the water available much longer.

One of the main flaws in the discontinued #IKEA #krydda system was the small size of the water reservoir for the plants.

Being forced to keep adding water almost twice a week was causing me a big headache, but with this simple solution. The water will always be available for the plants and I don't need to add new water more than once every 2 or 3 weeks.

Just need to make sure the bottle is well covered to prevent algae growth and the water level indicator on the unit is enough to show when the bottle is empty and water level too low.
