Warning: Don't take #methyleneblue if you're on an antidepressant, especially SSRIs and SNRIs, as high levels of serotonin can build up in the brain causing toxicity.
Methylene blue can bring oxygen to the brain's mitochondria and in many cases it's critically needed. However, actually mixing methylene blue and finding the right dose can get confusing. This video explains how to do it.
Dr. Francisco Gonzalez-Lima, a neuroscientist from the University of Texas in Austin, discovered that a very low amount of USP grade methylene blue in the body can promote brain oxygen consumption by an enzyme called cytochrome oxidase to power the mitochondria. In his analysis of many Alzheimer’s brains he found an inhibition of cytochrome oxidase in all of them. Methylene blue supplementation compensates for that problem.
