The project is a 1.3 GW floating offshore wind development project located off the southeast south-east coast of South Korea. It is the most mature large-scale project within Hexicon’s portfolio, with the potential to become one of the largest floating wind farms in the world.

The Crown Estate is planning a seabed leasing round in the Celtic Sea in 2023. The U.S. government has announced the first-ever sale of offshore wind development rights off the California coast. The Dept. of Interior (DOI) on Oct. 18 said it would hold the event on Dec. 6, in an effort to spur industry growth in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Rhode Island Energy, Rhode Island’s primary utility company, has released a request for proposal (RFP) for offshore wind procurement has for up to 1,000 MW of new offshore wind, states Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee. In July, Gov. McKee signed into law historic clean energy legislation, sponsored by Chairwomen Dawn Euer and Representative Art Handy, that seeks to expand Rhode Island’s offshore wind energy resources. The new law requires a market-competitive procurement for between 600 and 1,000 MW of newly developed offshore wind capacity.

Gov. Phil Murphy has signed Executive Order No. 307, increasing New Jersey’s offshore wind goal by nearly 50% to 11,000 MW by 2040. The executive order, which increases the state’s current goal of 7,500 MW, also directs the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to study the feasibility of increasing the target further.

Ocean Winds East LLC, (OW East) has officially named its planned offshore wind power project in the New York Bight: Bluepoint Wind.  The project will be located 38 nautical miles off the coast of New York and 53 nautical miles off the coast of New Jersey and will be able to generate up to 1.7 GW of clean energy. The project will help nearby states achieve important greenhouse gas reduction goals and offshore wind targets including New York’s goal of developing 9,000 MW of offshore wind energy by 2035 and New Jersey’s goal of developing 7,500 MW of offshore wind energy by 2035.

BlueFloat Energy and Energy Estate have expanded the proposed capacity of the Greater Gippsland Offshore Wind Project from 1.275 GW to 2.085 GW. The project is located in the Bass Strait off the coast of Gippsland in Victoria, which last month was declared by the Australian Government as the first area to be assessed for suitability for offshore wind developments.
