..."as an old saying of indeterminate origin says, the best way to predict the future is to create it.

Instead of trying to figure out what will happen, I want to talk about what we want to happen.

What do we want our #religious and #spiritual future to be?

Polytheists, pantheists, and non-theists have very different ways of understanding the world and relating to it. We may be able to work together to do Pagan Pride Day once a year, but we’re never going to worship together at every holy day. We don’t even recognize the same holy days.

Our plans for the future cannot require that people do what we know they won’t.

I often worry about what I want to have, forgetting the truth that we live in a society saturated with advertising and that things don’t bring happiness. I worry about what I want to be, forgetting that I am what I am and that changing that requires action. Focusing on what I want to do usually takes care of the other questions – and it’s something I can control.

When it comes to Paganism, polytheism, witchcraft – however you describe your religious and spiritual practice – what do you want to do?

Contemporary Paganism is like ancient Paganism in that both are organic religions. They grew / are growing from the bottom up. What we read and see in the lore we have took centuries to reach the state they were in when they were wiped out by Christianity.

We’re still in the early stages of modern Paganism.

The future of Paganism is very much undetermined. It will grow out of what we do. It will be what we make it.

Feu de la Saint-Jean - Solstice d'été

Depuis toute petite, dans mon village, le week-end d'après le solstice d'été, c'est la fête et il y a ce grand feu de la Saint-Jean. Je ne sais pas quelle signification y a mis l'église, mais le feu du solstice d'été dans la tradition celtique est la célébration de l'apogée du soleil, de la nature, de ce qu'on a semé, c'est le début des moissons et c'est un feu sanctificateur et non pas destructeur.

Pas de ronde ni de jeux pour sauter par dessus, vu la taille, vaut mieux pas, pas de danse ni de chant ni de tambour même si ça me démangeait, mais j'y ai déposé mon mat de mai et sa couronne de Beltane en souhaitant retrouver une union sacrée avec un homme. Trois mois après la rupture la plus incompréhensible de ma vie. Et en même temps j'ai beaucoup appris sur moi. Je récolte des choses étonnantes cette année. Quelle abondance vais-je vivre ces mois d'été?

Il s’agit d’une invocation en latin demandant à Gwyn ap Nudd, le roi des fées, le droit d’entrer dans son domaine. Bonne écoute !

For the recent release of the compilation Magick, Music and Ritual 17 organised by The Hermetic Library, I made a musical adaptation of a 14th century Welsh spell. It is an invocation in Latin asking Gwyn ap Nudd, the king of the fairies, for the right to enter his domain. Have a good listen!
