17 April, 2024 Wednesday Rama Navami #Pink #Maa #Siddhidatri Puja

During #Navratri, we worship the nine forms of #Goddess #Durga. It begins with the worship of Maa Shailaputri and is followed by the worship of the other avatars of Goddess Durga.

The Worship of Maa Siddhidatri
The ninth day of Navratri is dedicated to the worship of Maa Siddhidatri. The word #Siddhi means #supernatural power and Dhatri means the awarder. Hence, it is believed that Maa Siddhidatri fulfils all divine aspirations.

Maa Siddhidatri is known to be the giver of perfection. She blesses her devotees with wisdom and grants them #spiritual knowledge. Maa Siddhidatri is also worshipped by demons and is surrounded by all Gods.

History and Origin
The #story of Maa Siddhidatri begins at a time when our #universe was nothing more than a deep #void. It was filled with darkness and there was no sign of life. This is when Goddess Kushmanda created the universe with the radiance of her smile.

Maa Kushamnda then went on to create the #Trimurti of Lord #Bramha – the energy of creation, Lord #Vishnu – the energy of sustenance and Lord #Shiva – the energy of destruction. Once they were created, Lord Shiva asked Maa Kushmanda to bestow him with perfection.

So, Maa Kushmanda created another goddess who bestowed Lord Shiva with 18 kinds of perfection. These included the Ashta Siddhi (8 primary forms of perfection) along with 10 secondary forms of perfection, described by Lord Krishna.

This goddess who had the ability to bestow these perfections on Lord Shiva is Maa Siddhidatri – the giver of perfection. Now, Lord Bramha was asked to create the rest of the Universe. However, since he required a man and a woman for creation, Lord Bramha found this task to be very challenging.

He prayed to Maa Siddhidatri and asked her to help him. Upon hearing Lord Bramha’s request, Maa Siddhidatri converted half of Lord Shiva’s body into a woman’s body. Therefore, Lord Shiva is also known as #Ardhanarishwar (Ardh - half, Nari - woman, Ishwar - refers to Lord Shiva).

Lord Bramha was now able to create living beings along with the rest of the Universe. So, it was Maa Siddhidatri who helped Lord Bramha with the creation of the Universe and also bestowed perfection upon Lord Shiva.

Worship of Maa Siddhidatri
Maa Siddhidatri is depicted as being seated on a lotus or a lion. She has four arms and holds a conch shell, a mace, a lotus and a discus in each of these hands.

Worshipped on the ninth day of Navratri, Maa Siddhidatri possesses the Ashta Siddhi. It is believed that Maa Siddhidatri blesses her devotees with spiritual wisdom and she is also known to destroy ignorance.

Rumi, a 13th century Persian spiritual teacher, was asked:

What is spiritual maturity?

  1. It's when we stop trying to change others and focus on changing ourselves.
  2. It is when we accept people as they are.
  3. It is when we understand that everyone is correct according to their own perspective.
  4. It is when we learn to "let go".
  5. It is when we are able to not have "expectations" in a relationship, and we give of ourselves for the pleasure of giving.
  6. It is when we understand that what we do, we do for our own peace.
  7. It's when we stop showing the world how smart we are.
  8. It's when we stop seeking approval from others.
  9. It's when we stop comparing ourselves to others.
  10. It is when we are at peace with ourselves.
  11. It is when we are able to distinguish between "need" and "want" and we are able to let go of that want.
  12. Spiritual maturity is gained when we stop attaching "happiness" to material things!

#Moola #Nakshatra is the nineteenth Nakshatra in the series of the lunar constellations or Nakshatras in Vedic Astrology. It is symbolized by a bunch of roots tied together, meaning many things at once. It represents hidden things, secrecy, works, and events. It also means someone who is tied to their roots and generally does not move forward due to them, not going far away from their birthplace. This also means someone who gets to the roots of all situations to either find the cause of the problem or to prove a point.

It also includes crossing people’s personal boundaries. They are often seen in a bad light due to their nature and behavior but develop a thick-skin to go through it. They might cause issues in other people’s relationships and life due to the projection of what they experience in their own. Men in this nakshatra are skilled at many things and will change their profession often to find their best fit.

All four quarters or padas of this Nakshatra fall under the zodiac sign of #Sagittarius. It is one of the #gandanta (marks the transition from water to fire elements) #Nakshatras where #transformation happens from #material to #spiritual realm #Mula Nakshatra.

TIME AND AGAIN I am surprised how people who adorn themselves with being OH SO VERY #SPIRITUAL, with #BUDDHISM and #MINDFULNESS … people who praise #COMPASSION in speech or writing … how they FAIL TO REALIZE that their consumption and use of animal products (meat, dairy, leather …) depends on the #suffering of #Nonhuman_Persons, on #captivity, #exploitation, #forced_labour, #torture, and finally, #murder.

Folks, that’s #LIP_SERVICE_SPIRITUALITY.

THEN I REMEMBER how I did the same, how I was in that same state of #denial, for most of my life, even when I was vegetarian: I still ate cheese, curd, eggs, and I wore leather shoes and belts, thus showing the other animals that I am powerful enough to clothe me in their skins, a permanent menace to them!

Originally, #Humanity as a #collective was #taught the #knowledge of who we really are as #spiritual #beings and living holograms of the #Universe; how to reconnect with Higher Self by raising #kundalini energy from the base of the spine up to the third-eye and crown #chakras…and lived at a much, much higher level of #consciousness and full potential in human form
enter image description here
…before the Earth’s people and grid system was deliberately #hijacked by #dark #beings with a #negative #agenda, who definitely don’t want us to wake up to our true #history and #who we really are.

Here’s the thing. By #Universal #Law, we have to give our #consent for what they have done here, and the only way they can accomplish this consent is by outright lies, #deception and #duplicity because if #people knew the true agenda of these controllers, the majority of Humanity would never, ever, ever accept anything that has taken place here.

Beautyful mini docu about the dramatic & adventureous ilfe of #Gurdjieff, his projects, dances and communes, his travels and his work& teachings in general.

A #documentary on George Gurdjieff with Armenian sub-titles. Contains original and rare footage of the Gurdjieff movements and music from the 1920's and covers the basis of his teaching in his own words.

George Gurdjieff was born in 1867 in Gyumri (formerly Alexandropol) in #Armenia. His father Ivan was Greek and his mother Yeva was Armenian.

The film was made by Jean-Claude Lubtchansky, a close associate of Madame de Salzmann, with the support of the Gurdjieff Institute in France and is best viewed in full screen on a television or laptop.

#Osho described Gurdjieff as one of the most significant #spiritual #masters of this era and indeed this is a #film well worth watching.

Gurdjieff's teaching is fully described in the book called "In Search of the Miraculous" which can be read at http://www.gurdjieff.am

Your comments are welcome. We live on a #wonderful and possibly unique #planet in the #universe and can only be #grateful for #every #second of life that is granted to us.

The Future Of #Paganism
DECEMBER 14, 2023 BY #JOHNBECKETT

..."as an old saying of indeterminate origin says, the best way to predict the future is to create it.

Instead of trying to figure out what will happen, I want to talk about what we want to happen.

What do we want our #religious and #spiritual future to be?
...
Polytheists, pantheists, and non-theists have very different ways of understanding the world and relating to it. We may be able to work together to do Pagan Pride Day once a year, but we’re never going to worship together at every holy day. We don’t even recognize the same holy days.

Our plans for the future cannot require that people do what we know they won’t.
...
I often worry about what I want to have, forgetting the truth that we live in a society saturated with advertising and that things don’t bring happiness. I worry about what I want to be, forgetting that I am what I am and that changing that requires action. Focusing on what I want to do usually takes care of the other questions – and it’s something I can control.

When it comes to Paganism, polytheism, witchcraft – however you describe your religious and spiritual practice – what do you want to do?
...
Contemporary Paganism is like ancient Paganism in that both are organic religions. They grew / are growing from the bottom up. What we read and see in the lore we have took centuries to reach the state they were in when they were wiped out by Christianity.

We’re still in the early stages of modern Paganism.

The future of Paganism is very much undetermined. It will grow out of what we do. It will be what we make it.

What do you want to make it?"

Trial by Wonder

And the young monk
on the hillside thrice gave
weight to his staff against
greenhold ground found this day
along his sacred quest.
In answer, the land opened,
revealed a winding descending stairway.
The monk feeling bidden, ventured down.
Below, he became aware he had entered
cavernous chamber lit by broad torches.
An array of ancient armament displayed
upon a large wooden table, its edges
intricately carved.
Exquisite poignant music, angelic pure
voices unsullied by words emerged from
vibrating air.
“Welcome, child. You are expected.
Nourishment will arrive soon.
Knowledge will take longer.
Think on your questions.”
An old wrinkled presence, kind without sign
of emotion, spoke and settled into
luxurious green tapestry now clearly carpeting
the room.
The monk had embarked on his journey without
expectations.
That was one of the rules.
He eagerly followed each of seeming reasonless
instructions, on and on.
Now he had reached a place of contemplation,
a different kind of challenge.
He considered his questions in short mental movies.
Brought to him food exactly suited to invigorate,
water like clarity washing through him.
His mind paints the walls, animate characters flicker
in shadows. These converse with the monk, and each
other. Merry questions cavort as shapes, colors,
directions. When the monk awakes, he is walking
a familiar trail. The teller of his tale has decreed
it leads to a sacred hillside.
He hums to his steps, rehearsing his questions.
Their answers reside in his trusty backpack.
He has collected and carried these shiny pebbles
with intention to fabricate a magnificent rock collage
when the appropriate backdrop appears.
How lucky to be a monk in a time of such
abundance.
