Creation occurred due to the first sound #Aum. The universe and everything in it is condensed energy, that energy is vibrating and all has sound. The body itself is sound, called sabda in Sanskrit. The body can be recreated with sound as many modern technologies are now tapping into. In the ancient Puranas (sacred story texts), there are elaborate stories of the creation of the world (shristi karana). Meditating on the seed sounds (bijas) of the chakra petals is also called shristi karana, for it is the recreation of the body through sound (sabda). This is the practice of meditating on the chakras according to the Achyutananda tradition.

(1) First step is to worship the Guru and Paramguru. Those who don’t have one can do the mantra “Aum Vyam Vyasadevaya Namah” [1] 108 times while meditating on the crown, imagining golden radiant light coming into the crown and light sitting on the head. The Guru’s grace rests on the head. (2) Next pranayama can be done.

(3) Meditate on the third eye chakra, bringing the awareness there. (4) If one knows the Agni navakṣari mantra it can be done 21 times (5) followed by the Chaitanya mantra, or just praises to the fire of the third eye fire.

(6) Then one can do their parampara mantra [2] to stabilize the five aspects of the mind and make it peaceful.

(7) When the mind has become stable and peaceful one begins with the throat chakra. It contains 16 petals, each with the vowels of the Sanskrit alphabet. A knowledge of Sanskrit alphabet and its pronunciation is very helpful.

Today's #flower in the #garden is a star of Behtlehem. At least it looks like one of the many #species of #plants that go by that common name and I'm not a botanist and won't try to be more specific. It has six #petals which struck me as odd (no, not odd, you know what I mean). The number of petals is often a number from the #FibonacciSequence and so what might happen here during development is that each of the three petals split into two. I'm just speculating and I'm sure there are many more knowledgeable people who could give the right answer.

This second image is a cropped version of the one above. You can see the #stamens covered in yellow #pollen well. Instead of putting the centre of the flower in the centre of the image, I've used the #RuleOfThirds to try to make it a bit more interesting, which has the added benefit of being able to fit an entire petal into the frame.

The 5 #Petals #of #Venus & Its 8 Year #Cycle

When plotted geocentrically – from an Earth-centered perspective – there is a highly noticeable rhythm in the motion of Venus. After eight years, it returns to the same place in our sky on about the same date. This is known as the eight-year cycle of Venus, and stems from the fact that 13 Venusian orbits (13 x 224.8 days) very nearly equals eight Earth years. As a matter of fact, the cycle was known to, and of great interest to, ancient peoples such as the Maya. Today, many know it as the pentagram or petals of Venus.

The word #pentagram – or five-sided figure – is because, over the eight years, each phenomenon – each relative position of Earth, Venus, and the sun – occurs five times. Then, over the next eight years, they repeat five times almost identically.

The Five Petals Limerick

There was a young gal from Australia
Who went to a ball as a dahlia.
When the petals unfurled
It was known to the world
That the dress – as a dress – was a failure.
