James O'Keefe and Project Veritas settle suit over bogus voter fraud claims cited by the Trump campaign

Conservative provocateur James O'Keefe and his former organization Project Veritas have settled a lawsuit filed by a Pennsylvania postmaster after the group spread a Postal Service worker's false claims of voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election.

A lawyer who represented Robert Weisenbach, the Erie postmaster who filed the lawsuit in state court, confirmed that it had been settled on undisclosed terms.

“The only comment I’m allowed to make about it is that the case was filed, was litigated, and settled to the satisfaction of the parties,” attorney David Houck told NBC News.

O'Keefe, who was removed as head of Project Veritas in February 2023, said in a brief statement Monday that he was "aware of no evidence or other allegation that election fraud occurred in the Erie Post Office during the 2020 Presidential Election.”...

The #cabal's #reaction to the @ #ProjectVeritas #story is one of the swiftest and extreme I've ever seen. Within minutes Jordon Walker's LinkedIn page was deleted, (unfortunately there are no working archives), Go ogle ( BLACKGOO) restricted searches, and an army of shills, fact-checkers, and bots were deployed to smear Project Veritas and any evidence of Walker's ties to Pfizer as fake. This displays the immense amount of power that Big Pharma has.

Project Veritas

The ruling shows the group’s methods aren’t just fake journalism; they’re unlawful
Jurors in Washington on Thursday awarded $120,000 to a member of Democracy Partners, co-founded by self-described progressive strategist Robert Creamer.

A federal jury found last week that the methods used by Project Veritas in the group’s 2016 sting operation on progressive consulting firm Democracy Partners were unlawful, further tarnishing an organization notorious for its undercover gotcha videos. The ruling confirms what watchdogs have been saying for years about founder James O’Keefe and the nefarious tactics he employs, even as right-wing and even some mainstream media have irresponsibly treated Project Veritas videos as legitimate sources.

On September 22, a jury declared that O’Keefe’s operatives had unlawfully recorded the consulting firm in the leadup to the 2016 election, and that those same operatives had fraudulently identified themselves in the process of infiltrating the group. O’Keefe says he will appeal.

Much like in the group’s other sting operations, Project Veritas operatives had used false identities to secure meetings and an internship with Democracy Partners. Evidence for the trial included emails written by O’Keefe showing that he had offered cash bonuses to any employee who could provide content that implicated Democracy Partners in committing voter fraud, along with court documents detailing a voter fraud scheme that operatives attempted to plan within Democracy Partners.

Project Veritas Must Face Defamation Suit Alleging It Ran ‘Fabricated’ Voter Fraud Claims in Pennsylvania, Judge Rules

Project Veritas cannot dismiss a defamation lawsuit from a postmaster in Pennsylvania who says the group smeared him by running “fabricated” claims that he backdated mail-in ballots to sway the outcome of the 2020 presidential election for Joe Biden, a judge ruled.

The Erie postmaster, Robert Weisenbach, says he was actually a Donald Trump supporter who voted for the 45th president on Election Day. He says that did not stop Project Veritas from running a “fabricated” story by an alleged anonymous “whistleblower” who described Weisenbach as a “Trump hater” and claimed to have overheard him plotting to backdate ballots.

The so-called “whistle-blower,” U.S. Postal Service employee Richard Hopkins, recanted his remarks to the inspector general. Hopkins later asserted his about-face was coerced and reaped a windfall, making $130,000 over GoFundMe before that account was suspended and $236,000 over GiveSendGo, according to the lawsuit.

Weisenbach says that the damage was done. Trump amplified the false claims of voter fraud, and Weisenbach had to leave his home with his family and shelter in a hotel after receiving hate mail and threats, according to his lawsuit.
