Preening Anhinga

Usually preferring a tree stump or fallen branch to stretch its wings to dry in the sun, this river bank didn't offer much so s/he just 'winged it'. On the ground. With a chance to do a little preening while drying off. (Anhinga's have no oil in their feathers like most waterbirds, so they remain grounded between dive-bombing flights into the water, submerging and re-appearing like a "snake".

Persistent Limpkin

A short (53s) video - A limpkin finds a large and challenging mollusk. Its preferred diet, which is easily accommodated here, is the apple snail. But this looks like a hard closed-shell mollusk. Despite its specialized beak, this took a bit of work, and persistence.
